Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We utilize an Infrascale Platform device at our main location for VMWare server backups - as well as a cloud-managed device for off-site backup replication. Infrascale Platform makes it VERY easy to take backups at the VMWare level so that you don't have to deal with backing up within a Windows-Based environment.

- Backing Up At The Virtualization-Level of a server environment
- Email notifications built-in, allowing you to know when backups have failed - or if there's a firmware update available for the box
- Backup Replication to off-site hosted appliance
- Customer service is ALWAYS immediately responsive. Never have to wait more than an hour to hear back once a ticket is submitted

- Honestly, none come to mind. We've been very happy with their service and support provided.

Pros
- Makes consistent, verifiable onsite backups of our corporate data.
- Makes consistent, verifiable offsite backups of our corporate data
- Plays very nice with VMware, the infrastructure we currently use
Cons
- The interface can use a serious update. It's understandable, but not modern.
- I don't like the fact that it forced an upgrade to VMware. That's not something that can be done by every company very easily.
- The restore process can be more intuitive.
Return on Investment
- Peace of mind: our entire virtual environment is backed up both onsite and offsite
- As stated, it is pricey. Since we haven't needed to do anything more than basic file restores, ROI is hard to measure. A full restore of a virtual server immediately would be priceless. So, on that note, ROI is good.
