Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Infosec Skills for phishing campaigns. This use addresses problems where users click links they are not supposed to. This also helps raise phishing awareness for our users. Education is the key to ensuring users are both educated and understand how important it is to be cognizant of the threats around us.

Video instruction is timely and accurate with latest information

Helped me obtain 3 certifications

Cons

Some of the quality of video is poor
Some of the audio is poor
Often times I wished the videos would auto play next video and not require me to hit next.

I use it for training in offensive security and network security. Learning from beginner level in aspects to gain insight into specialized topics and to re inforce my learning. I use the labs to apply this knowledge in practical aspects

Closed captions are required
Few courses need to be vetted better
More detailed labs

The smoothness of practice labs in infosec skills is a lot better than any other labs I have used and it does not crash as often. It also has a wide variety of courses in multiple specializations which I have not see offered anywhere else

I briefly used Infosec Skills in the past, but this time I was scheduled to take a CISSP boot camp. I was skeptical at first because many of the boot camps I have taken before usually water hose you with information that you can read from the book by yourself. I ended up learning a lot more from the instructor about the information and how to prepare and take this certification exam. I have no doubt that the instructor, Steve Wright's guidance, played a huge factor in my understanding of the material and concepts as well as passing the exam.

Pros

They take the time to go over the material and not just rush through it to make the time
The instructor was extremely helpful in answering any and all questions
Material was relevant and updated

Cons

Questions! The Database/site was updated, and I was no longer able to access the questions and choose specific topics to study from
There were two CISSP courses to watch videos, I would remove the oldest
Put an emphasis that users have a years membership after completing a boot camp

Likelihood to Recommend

The boot camp was planned accordingly, and had the right amount of time to go over and review the material. I would recommend breaking up the class over a weekend. For CISSP, the amount of information to ingest is a lot and can be overwhelming. I felt at day 5, I just needed not so much of a break but time to go back and review what I just learned.

Infosec Skills allows you to gain knowledge, get certifications related to many IT career fields. As the IT industry changes, Infosec Skills continues to update its training to stay current. I have used Infosec to obtain a certification and also taken courses to update my skills.

Large class, multiple student options are available

Infosec Skills was instrumental In acquiring my certification. The instructors for the courses I have attended have all been very knowledgeable and helpful. They always had knowledge over and above what was presented in the course and gave many examples of real-world situations that were applicable to the material. Their goal has always been to make sure that you learn the material, can apply it to situations in real life and make sure you receive your certification.
