IBM Hyper Protect Offline Signing Orchestrator

What is IBM Hyper Protect Offline Signing Orchestrator?

IBM® Hyper Protect Offline Signing Orchestrator (Offline Signing Orchestrator or OSO for short) is a cold storage solution on IBM LinuxONE and Linux on Z, which brokers communications between two different applications that are designed not to communicate directly. Due to the level of isolation between applications there is no network connection which eliminates the network attack vector. OSO leverages encrypted in-memory communication that is unidirectional and is based on IBM HiperSockets.

By consolidating this cold storage solution to run completely on IBM LinuxONE or Linux on Z, the typical risks associated with a traditional cold storage solution can be eliminated such as human interactions that cause privileged administrator access, operational costs and errors, and the inability to scale.

Key Benefits include:

•Users can set 2 different timers

  • Transaction Signature

  • Publish to Blockchain (cannot be changed)

•Datacenter admin and hardware consolidation cost savings

•Review of transactions, but no operational involvement

•Scalability – clients can grow with market demands

•Technical assurance that provides a zero trust environment
