I have used IBM Cloud Block Storage for personal use, sorting personal files including documents, pictures and videos.
Pros
Persistant Storage
Available Storage
Scalability
Cons
User interface could be more clear
Ocasional connectivity issue
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage would be appropriate for persistent storage of vasts amounts of data that either are yet to be determined how to process or are part of a defined data flow that doesn't require real-time analytics. That is any data lake solution is well suited for the IBM Cloud Block Storage. For big data analytics, IBM data warehouse would be a better alternative.

We rely on this platform to store our data and manage all information that takes place across our teams. It provides high-performing servers that interlink our organization network with our cloud servers. The product provides us with customizable storage disks that can store different volumes of workloads according to the required demands. I am able to set up passwords on my data under the disks to ensure no unauthorized access.
Pros
Provision of different data storage platforms.
Management of cloud storage servers.
Cons
I have not identified any room that requires improvement.
I have not experienced any missing functionality.
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage platform is a very powerful tool that has served our organization effectively since we deployed it. It has a strong networking capacity between our cloud servers and company applications. It transfers data securely to our cloud storage disks with high speed and our teams can access that data when the demand arises. Implementation of our programs and the performance of our applications is managed and controlled by a powerful cloud networking system.
IBM Cloud Block Storage is a diverse space platform, with extensive procedures that oversee the security of every content. Besides, IBM Cloud Block Storage has both the minimal and the maximum space, for optimal services to the users. For instance, IBM Cloud Block Storage has a lower space of 25GB and an extra of up to 12000GB. Again, there is the competent analytical solution, that determines the operational capacity of a company, and the direction that the firm takes.
Pros
Proficient scaling and system customization, which allows editing.
Wide range of system storage, ranging from 25GB to 12000GB.
Finally, IBM Cloud Block Storage deploys the most technical and efficient security measures.
Cons
Lacks a software for mobile devices, which have many clients.
IBM Cloud Block Storage also has some technicality, and they demand some ICT basics.
However, the performance of IBM Cloud Block Storage is rational and outstanding.
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage is a competent and accommodating cloud solution, which allows either large or small databases to have an actual storage avenue. Further, IBM Cloud Block Storage detailed and complex data (content) get better solutions from IBM Cloud Block Storage as it has been fine-tuned and well designed. Again, IBM Cloud Block Storage ensures the performance of either processing or even data backup is quality and nothing that hinders its proficiency. Finally, IBM Cloud Block Storage is a world-class storage platform, with standard mechanisms that have defined working plans.
IBM Cloud Block Storage is the program that has deployed advanced technology in controlling the storage process, by use of SANs and other [cloud-based] procedures. Further, IBM Cloud Block Storage enhances the sharing of data between the various nodes, which makes the working coordination in a company straightforward and efficient.Further, IBM Cloud Block Storage has a real time security methods, that keep users satisfied and safe from malware challenges.
Pros
IBM Cloud Block Storage conducts an automated backup efficiently.
The deployment of the security measures is perfect.
The sharing of data, more so with the various nodes is effective.
Cons
The documentation requires updates and be more clear for understanding.
The cost of IBM Cloud Block Storage requires revision.
Volume mounting takes some time or energy.
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage is recommendable to companies that [have a database that] is super sensitive, private, and requires instant access. Further, IBM Cloud Block Storage creates a coordinated system, that [classifies] data, based on the requirements that a company has. The security deployment from IBM Cloud Block Storage is another merit that [businesses] attain.
We use IBM Cloud Block Storage alongside our IBM Cloud implementations as the storage medium for static files on the cloud. It is used to serve static assets such as images and asset bundles for applications. In some cases it is used to serve static websites running only JavaScript, CSS and HTML (e.g. React and Angular applications). Being able to have cheap static storage on the IBM Cloud enables our organization to store objects effectively and provide granular access.
Pros
Cheap cloud storage
API access
Integration with application deployment pipelines
Cons
More options for stale object offloading
Granular access controls to object prefixes
Object lifecycle management
Likelihood to Recommend
If you're deploying applications to the IBM Cloud and if your organization or project is primarily using IBM Cloud, IBM Cloud Block Storage is the best static asset solution for you. The ability to automate workflows related to objects, simple storage mechanisms and the myriad of IBM Cloud service integrations makes it the strongest contender for static object storage on IBM Cloud.
IBM Cloud Block Storage is being used by a department to store the telemetry data from many devices. Since the telemetry data is produced at a fast pace, it requires good performance and high IOPS for the storage. IBM Cloud Block Storage offers the capability to customize IOPS on the fly, that makes it a good choice.
Pros
IOPS customization
High availability
Data encryption
Cons
Mounting the volume is a bit complex.
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage is well suited for storing data with high IOPS requirements, as it can go up to 48000 IOPS by increasing capacity. As it is raw storage like hard disks, which means it can be used by both virtual machines and containers. The data encryption feature also ensures the security of the stored data.
We use block storage throughout our infrastructure to reliably ensure data sharing between the various nodes of our cluster as well as the containers that run within it. That allows us to dynamically scale services that will share common data with the security that they will have of the data they need in real time.
In our experience using the service, even with auto snapshots we have not had the need to make use of that since our downtime has been almost equal to 0% (moreover, I do not remember if there was ever a problem and for us that is critical)
Pros
Correct efficiency for the use of ISCSI
Perform hot backups efficiently
Manages a variable IOPS ratio for various needs
Cons
The documentation must be clearer and updated, thinking about each distribution that they offer in the cloud
Downtime when IOPS are raised can be less
The configuration can be more automated from the same control panel and not have to take it so much to the CLI
Likelihood to Recommend
The service in general is great because on the backend. IBM offers experience and knowledge in the use of data center technologies undeniably.
I recommend it for almost any situation but particularly for databases and especially large ones. That possibility of adjusting IOPS dynamically to levels that other data centers do not offer makes it unique. I don't recommend using the service if you don't have an infrastructure expert who knows about servers, Linux, and storage because a lot of the configuration and settings require an expert hand.
IBM Cloud Block Storage is used as the block storage for all Kubernetes and Openshift clusters used across the company and for customer projects. It solves the problem of having a trusted Storage as a service, easily integrated with other assets and services deployed on IBM Cloud, and used to solve various business problems and challenges.
Pros
Easy to provision
Quick to integrate
Cheap
Cons
Time for deployment
Separated billing
Documentation to be simplified
Likelihood to Recommend
IBM Cloud Block Storage is well suited in scenarios where there is a need for the equivalent of shared block storage, as for deploying and using Kubernetes and Openshift platforms. Each piece of Block storage is used on a 1:1 basis as a Persistent Volume for Kubernetes, and it allows high scalability and flexibility.
On the other hand, for software development or higher-level usage, IBM Cloud Object Storage would be a better fit.
