Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Emails are issued randomly for the organisation to spot as being unsafe and report. It keeps us all alert due to no specific type of email or time of day or eek they are issued.
The score board creates friendly competition between staff and team and ignites discussion on how the email was spotted as being risky to to some and not others.
It also provides a greater need to be meticulous and focused with regard to the emails that we all receive.
It has also created more open conversation of discussing if others have received and email and if someone is unsure whether to comply with the email this is discussed more so now.

It has shown where people are too engaged in getting a task completed that they may not read and investigate emails adequately.

Creates a more open discussion on the types of emails that should be approached with caution.
Focuses you to be more vigilant
Educates you on the different types of risk you may encounter

Cons

When someone is away and their out of office is active this is not picked up and this causes them to move down in the scoreboard as missed.
the steps to go through before completing the sections of each Hoxhunt can be tedious
the site is somewhat childish

This is suited for those who receive many emails in a day and may not be as attentive to the types of emails they are opening or links being followed. It is not appropriate where staff are away and unable to obtain the learning that Hoxhunt offers once the email is detected as an Hoxhunt exercise.

Currently use Hoxhunt to train staff members on spotting spam / phising emails. So far it's been quite successfull. Majority of staff members have been able to locate SPAM / Phishing emails vs normal legitimate websites. Currently over 100 employees are taking part on the Hoxhunt Email training.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hoxhunt is used everyday to make us aware and alert on suspicious emails. Personally I think it's a great idea as we deal with a wide range of data from the resident and businesses in our Borough. Therefore we need to ensure everything is secure and any threats to compromise the data is eliminated as soon as possible.

All the Hoxhunt emails have been really well thought of - the most recent one nearly caught me out as the email address was from someone who actually worked at the organisation. I had to double check their name on Teams to verify this. I then noticed the email address prefix was incorrect, hence i spotted it was one from Hoxhunt.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization uses Hoxhunt to train us to spot malicious emails. Some of the Hoxhunt emails are tricky as they appear to originate from a coworker. Because of the training I have received at work, I have become attuned to potential threats and inspect my emails carefully both from my work and personal accounts. I feel equipped now to spot the culprits and I appreciate that my organization has invested not only in its security but also in mine. Hoxhunt is a great tool to inform and educate its audience about potential cyber threats. Hoxhunt is so much better than stale security videos in monotone dialogue. I get a Hoxhunt email every couple of weeks and they are very creative!

Measures my progress in levels - with each lesson completed, I receive confirmation of successfully identifying a fake email
Educates the user to the potential threat in well-defined examples

Cons

Sometimes the email is easy to spot as there are over 500 people in our organization and I don’t have any work interaction with that person’s department. I would be less suspicious of an email from a coworker in my department.

In a larger organization, Hoxhunt works well. We know they are coming periodically which takes a way the element of surprise. If they showed up randomly, say 2-3 in the space of a week and then none for a couple of weeks, it might throw us off which would be good. In reality you never know when trouble will show up.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Working in a field that requires confidentiality and clarity, it can be easy to become impacted by scammers or fake emails that sound like they are real. My organization is so huge that I don't know all employees nor their roles. Hoxhunt keeps you on your toes to ensure you think through if an email is valid or a potential scam. They've gotten me on a couple emails that sounded authentic. It has really caused me to pause and think prior to clicking links or going any further. Additionally, it's super fun to compete with colleagues using this program. They do a great job only showing people near your score (you earn higher scores for catching the scam emails without clicking any links) and in doing so, makes it fun to see just how high in the rankings you can go. I have sent screenshots to coworkers I do know who have similar scores as I do. They always get a laugh out of it. I highly recommend Hoxhunt.

If emails are used for confidential communication, Hoxhunt is a HUGE benefit. I have caught myself feeling lax over emailing and clicking links. Hoxhunt makes you really evaluate safety and legitimacy of the emails that are received. We even have laughs about it at staff meetings where staff admit to getting "hoxhunted" and clicking a fake link.

It makes us aware of the possible cyber threats that we might face. It teaches what to look for in an unexpected email, so we can have reasonable suspicions if the email is not trustworthy. It also handles suspicious emails: so, there's a button in your email account that you can click on when you get an email that looks unsafe. So, I think we have two uses: training and handling threats.

Cons

I wish you could report emails without having to open them.
It's hard to have access to your dashboard except when you're reporting an email.
Would be nice if you kept us informed of other trends in cybercrime in addition email scams.
I'd like to learn more about deep fakes and if there's a way to protect oneself... Is there a way to detect those?

In general, it is good with email scams/phishing.
So, far, I have never experienced any situation in which Hoxhunt would be inappropriate or out of place.

We have signed on for the full training package and get frequent emails set to "test" employees current security awareness and then provide training and feedback on the outcomes. Email security, in particular, is a big threat as we have a high volume of external communications over a very broad user base with varying degrees of computer literacy. It is vital to ensure the staff are aware of the potential risks and are upskilled in identifying them as well as taking the correct actions to mitigate the threat to the business.

I believe Hoxhunt is a great solution for any business wanting to create staff awareness around the real threat of cybercrime. Large businesses with large staff numbers and high external customer engagement will make them more susceptible to online threats, while a small entity with low user numbers will be less likely to need a 'full-scale" approach - although, you can never be too safe.

As phishing attacks and scams get more elaborate, employees need to be regularly reminded. Hoxhunt is used for regular micro-training sessions that keep users vigilant without consuming too much time that it's burdensome or overly disruptive. On top of that, the training is gamified and generally encouraging, so that users feel a sense of progress and accomplishment for regularly investing in this skillset.

We use Hoxhunt for IT security issues. It's great because it's easy and really intuitive. Also for general matters people are usually busy for security trainings or to pay attention to the general phishing threats and that's where Hox makes a huge impact. With this "competition" and in a good humor with dashboards and all that visual part, people starts to report the security threats and you feel more smart and more connected. Seems you are doing a darn good job. So before you were going to hit bottoms and click everywhere but now you know about Hoxhunt and understand there is all this phishing hunt competition so you want to improve your marks and be better. That sounds really nice!

I really enjoyed Hoxhunt. I think there is room to improve so that's why a 9 instead of a 10.
Hoxhunt can fit in any company that need to secure their perimeter. People will start to understand more and be smarter just joining the program.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hoxhunt in my organization provides continuous, automated phishing simulations that are personalized for each employee. It helps me tackle phishing challenges by simulating realistic scenarios, sent to me via email regularly. When I interact with a simulation, Hoxhunt provides immediate feedback; educating me if I fall for the simulation or reinforcing good behavior if I report it. The program adapts to my learning pace, becoming more challenging as I improve my detection skills. This altogether helps me create awareness about the latest phishing techniques. The Hoxhunt interface is user-friendly and engaging, very easy and fun to use.

For me, neurodivergent person (with ADHD) it's really hard to focus on trainings. Hoxhunt is the first application promoting cyber-security awareness and educating users that actually works for me. It changes every time, and its game-like interface creates fun and easy-to use experience for me. Therefore, I see it as a perfect tool for neurodivergent employees.
I cannot think of any place where it could be less appropriate.
