Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hyperion has pretty much all the features that we need to perform multiple user planning and it also has a powerful Business Logic Engine. The workflow is very flexible and does not need much coding to modify. For regular end users, there is a Web Console that has a very friendly user interface.

Hyperion is great for Financial report consolidation and also for generating reports. It also has built in regulatory and other compliance rules which helps us reduce costs overall. The OLAP engine can easily be used for a full scale project management requirement. Since the data is stored in clusters in the cloud, read and write speeds are high and we use that speeds to generate multiple Business Models in just a few mintues.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hyperon is used in my organization to extract the business logic from our app's Java code. In the beginning, it was introduced only in one project, but after successful reviews, there are plans to introduce it to other areas within our company. Business users are quite happy using it. Java developers, not really at first, but after few initial problems they learned the Hyperon benefits.

  • Separation of business logic from the app's code
  • Decision table performance
  • Good GUI

Cons

  • Pretty high entry threshold
  • A few bugs in GUI
  • UX might be better in some places

Likelihood to Recommend

Hyperon is less appropriate in smaller projects that do not contain a lot of business logic. However, if there are a lot of business rules to manage, many things that might be frequently changed, then Hyperon is a good tool to address it.
