Presenting videos to clients through proposals and emails, embedding them on website, and securely hosting videos for online courses to prevent unauthorized sharing. This product uniquely addresses the latter issue compared to competitors and also provides ample storage space for videos at competitive prices.
Pros
streaming videos in 4K
protecting videos
video storage for online courses
great support
Cons
player branding - instead of adding logo url, just make users to upload the logo
clarify the concept of collections vs video library
improve sharing by email to include animated gif of the video instead of still image

It's perfect for course creators to embed in their Learning Management Systems (LMS) because of its innovative protection features. It also supports 4K playback and is an excellent choice for embedding on websites, as it avoids the risk of competitor commercials that can appear with YouTube. Additionally, it's a great option for embedding in proposals, as it avoids the issue of YouTube sometimes not playing videos and displaying a "login to prove you are not a bot" message.

Gumlet was the perfect solution for us because we needed to privately host video on a fast streaming platform while protecting the rights of the video. One of the selling points was the ability to also brand the player to match our website and branding. These features aren't offered from major players in the market.
Pros
Video hosting
Video Privacy & DRM
Custom branded player
Incredible load speed
Cons
Integration with Wordpress was lacking imo
Would love an elementor integration

Everything Gumlet claims to do works. DRM, video hosting and customization are features I have used and can recommend. Given their ability to deliver on these features, I trust they are a great option for other features they advertise. Pricing is fair, in fact below average imo. Definitely a great service for your business.
We are hosting videos for our and our clients' websites on the platform. This includes both decorative and authoritative videos since web hosting is typically not optimal for hosting and streaming videos. We were looking for a video hosting solution since many clients want to use videos in their website hero sections, and came across Gumlet at an opportune time.
Pros
Video hosting
Image Hosting
Stream videos
Cons
More streamlined UI
Improve webhook setup
Add native integrations for automations

I recommend all clients host videos using Gumlet as opposed to using free third-party platforms like YouTube or self-hosting on a web host. Gumlet handles video/streaming and image hosting well without a high ticket price. Some clients are averse to spend money on video hosting so we recommend they get on the Gumlet Free Forever plan to get them into the mindset to think about video hosting differently.
Using Gumlet for video hosting of our educational platform with DRM protection. Other features like custom video player, dynamic watermark feature & user tracking gives good overview of whats happening with your content. I got lifetime deal via appsumo so it was great investment overall. Only negative thing i found is Gumlet doesnt have DRM protection in lower end plans. Otherwise it's very best service.
Pros
DRM protection for proprietary videos
Customised video player
Learning management videos support
Cons
Pricing plan and DRM in lower end plans
Likelihood to Recommend
Gumlet is best if you have large content to protect for piracy and security. If you have small content then it becomes very expensive to manage in the given pricing plan for business plans.
Gumlet allows so much customization in order to better serve my audience, and at the same time protect your video content from the ones with less good intentions. Since I've started using Gumlet, there has been no more complaints about speed issues, infinite loop when buffering, and I feel much safe now with the additional layer of security that their DRM feature provides.
Pros
Digital Rights Management (DRM) to prevent unauthorized use and piracy
Buffering / Load speed
Hyper-Customization
Ease of sharing / embedding
Cons
Ability to create an entire Landing page with each uploaded video
Automatic Video Transcription
Advanced Options over video for CTAs and Lead Generation
Likelihood to Recommend
The best usages I can think of for Gumlet are actually the current ones I'm doing:
1- To create private videos for your audience (courses, free tutorial, quick tips)
2- To embed videos on your main sites and/or landing pages so you can have it being played with the best performance possible and branded properly.
We use Gumlet in our organization primarily for hosting, securing, and streaming videos. The platform helps us address several business challenges, such as optimizing video performance to ensure it is buffer-free. The DRM feature allows us to protect the videos from being stolen. Custom branding allows us to use our own branding on the videos.
Pros
Best Video Hosting
Custom Branding at each collection Level
Multiple collections and video CMS
DRM Protection
Cons
Some technical functions can be simplified
User Access walkthrough
Better stream manager

Gumlet offers excellent solutions for video and image optimization, which significantly enhance performance and user engagement while reducing costs. Their security measures and reliable uptime make it a trustworthy choice. The company is great, support is fast and responsive. UI is great, faster performance. and the software looks stable with continuous updates and improvements.
Gumlet we selected because we needed a reliable and cost effective way to host video clips. Sometimes, clips are shared on private viewing pages. Other times, we embed a clip on a client's website. Gumlet solves both needs in a very easy to use interface that makes uploading, organizing and sharing video fun to do.
Pros
Create private viewing pages
Organize clips into collections then sub-play lists
Customize the embed player for client branding and colors
Offer optional secure video streaming with DRM that all the big companies use to prevent people stealing our content
Cons
I would like the ability to set a higher minimum playing resolution so that videos aren't blurry at the start.
Coming from Vimeo I would like to see a Chrome extension or Windows application to record my screen similar to what Loom has.
I would like to see sub folder in playlists within collections. Currently I can only have top level playlists.

I think Gumlet is suitable for any content creator that makes videos for clients as well as for small businesses that want to host videos on their website to promote their products/services. If you want to make quick videos sharing your screen you have to do this using a different tool then export your footage and manually upload to Gumlet so it's not ideal for that.
I had a Vimeo subscription for over 10 years and have been
wishing to switch to another service. Vimeo was too costly for the small amount
of bandwidth I was using with the service.
I used Vimeo, and now Gumlet, to host and stream my original
short film videos and other creative video media for collaborating with editors
or other creators, at times to submit to film festivals, and to able to show
off my work in various contexts.
I had to pay for a Vimeo plan to get enough storage
capability, be able to set passwords, to be able to have multiple edits and
multiple videos up at the same time, etc. even though the resulting traffic in
the end was comparatively very low. I also need this capability all year round.
Gumlet can do and solve all this for me and even gives me access to features I
never had with my Vimeo-Plan, e.g. geo-blocking countries from accessing my videos.
I purchased a lifetime deal, because it appears to be very
good value for me. I will no longer have to pay a monthly fee for my professional
video hosting / streaming needs.
Pros
Speedy transcoding, hosting, and streaming of my film media
Privacy Features (Passwords, private, unlisted, geo-blocking of select countries, etc.)
Automated AI subtitling / transcription of my content for no additional fee
Extensive Analytics, reports about my content
Additionally offers direct download links for my content
Attractive Player customization, hide Gumlet logo if so wanted, change highlight color of the player, upload own logo
Very attractive value proposition with the current special lifetime deal
Cons
The UI ranges from quite nice to impressive, but could in some select ways be improved further. As they are currently working on it and releasing improvements frequently, I think it is already very good for where they are in the process.
Similarly, the current Video Library and playlist system are already very good and completely sufficient for my needs, but I would appreciate the inclusion/return of an additional folder system for organizing my videos.
This is also just a nice-to-have and had no adverse effect on my usage of and productivity in relation to the platform, but the English grammar / conciseness of the English descriptions, tooltips, etc. could be further improved. This is more of an "optical" issue, rather than a workflow/productivity issue.
It would be great if they added an optional "Privacy" column to the list of videos, displaying the privacy status of each video in the video library (e.g. unlisted, password, public, private, etc.).

I have been looking for a Vimeo alternative for a long time and so far, Gumlet has been working great for my use-case: transcoding, hosting and streaming my original film media and password-protecting them if needed. And all this without ads and with a customizable player, which can even hide the Gumlet logo if wanted. The lifetime deal offers incredible value for my specific situation. I need flexibility and certain features for the long-term, but effectively do not need a lot of monthly bandwidth and wanted to keep my running costs low. So far, I have been very happy with the system, not a single serious complaint or issue from my side. Hopefully they will continue to improve and maintain the product as enthusiastically, as they are doing now.

I use Gumlet to store videos for educational courses. Students and participants watch the videos to learn more about a range of topics. I love the customization features that Gumlet offers and that so much can be automated. I don't have to specify the subtitle translations each time, each video comes with translated subtitles. It's awesome!
Pros
video hosting
customization of the video player
subtitles being automatically added
Cons
could be a little easier to navigate
would love to store some additional files with the videos such as full transcripts

Whenever someone wants to host video and use custimization features that Gumlet offers.
As an agency, we're very happy with Gumlet. It allows us to separate our web and video hosting infrastructure, offering more specialised services for video hosting and streaming. We love the publishing formats offered as well as the feature to publish videos directly on Gumlet. Or publish them elsewhere, such as on our landing pages for customers. The interface is clean and allows you to find everything intuitively.
Only gripe : some more love and work should be put into the documentation. Certain important information is too fragmented, as multiple platforms are used to present it. Also some topics should be more fleshed out.
Pros
Clean interface
Generous offering in terms of streaming bandwidth
API functionality
Cons
Documentation
Tutorials

Are you looking for a platform that not only offers video hosting and streaming? But one that also offers additional services around it such as a basic website, course creation, etc.? Keep looking.
However, if you want a reliable video hosting and streaming component that can solve your video hosting and streaming needs, around which you can develop your own systems and integrations, it's a good match.
