Google Forms is used internally across various departments to create quick surveys. It's very quick and easy to set up a new survey, and checking in on employee mental health and happiness is extremely important during [a] shelter in place. Forms help us address communication challenges due to lack of face-to-face interactions, and allows us to get data quickly while being able to customize surveys as we go.
Pros
Ease of Customization
Understandable UI with no Tutorials
Anyone can create and launch a survey in minutes
It's free (for personal use)
Cons
Customization of look and feel is lacking
Only 4 background color options
There are only 4 fonts to choose from
Difficult to filter out false responses from people who may have gotten the link
Lack of logic options and functionality
Likelihood to Recommend
Google Forms is well suited for employee pulse surveys, customer satisfaction surveys, intake forms for contracts, voting for informal/formal outings and events, nominations and elections of certain officers or club team members, and more! Google Forms is less appropriate when the stakes are higher and there is highly sensitive or confidential information involved. You wouldn't want to include financial results or request sensitive confidential information in Google Forms.
This is mainly used for collecting data and taking ideas from our staff. When a new project is to be established, this is very useful.
Pros
Google Forms is interconnected with Google Sheets, so it is very easy to analyze the data in a convenient manner.
If we wrongly add some section, we can easily remove or correct it.
It is very easy to use without deep knowledge.
Cons
More customization facilities so the user can manipulate it
It is internet-based one so you cannot use it if you do not have internet. It would be very useful if it could be usable without internet.
It only accepts texts up to 500 Kband images up to 2 Mb, and for spreadsheets, the limit is 256 cells or 40 sheets.
Likelihood to Recommend
Google Forms is well suited for doing surveys and projects based on data analysis. You do not need to collect and analyze the data manually, since it can be done very easily and automatically by Google Forms.
We use shared Google Form documents across our company as our main way of sharing and accessing information. We have spreadsheets for everything, calendars for employee availability, Word documents with a copy to cut and paste in emails and literature sent to customers. It has made it easy for us to all know where we are in a work flow process.
Pros
Spreadsheets work with all the attributes we ever needed from Excel.
It is easy to search for old documents and to share them as needed.
You can set alerts for when a document is altered that will notify your employees they need to check the changes.
Cons
It is too easy to accidentally change a cell in a spreadsheet. With the auto-save feature, you may not notice and these changes save. However, you can go back and see what the previous value of the cell was.
The organization of your documents in the drive can get messy if you don't actively create folders and subgroups. It doesn't intuitively group like items.
If you share a document it can be edited by the person you shared it with unless you specifically choose not to let them. It can be easy to forget who has what permissions.
Likelihood to Recommend
If multiple people need to work on the same document, it makes it easy to share and see what others have done. You can set notifications to let you know if a document was altered, which can be used to alert employees as to a need to do a task. It is intuitive and easy to learn/use.
Google Forms for my small business allows for customers to easily and cohesively provide me and my business with a response based upon my work and allow my small business to improve its standing not only among the community, but with the respect and admiration of those whom we serve. Being able to issue surveys and forms that are not bland and actually fun for the customer to complete is definitely an excellent way to achieve a good amount of respect with one's customers. Google Forms is used by my business to ask customers their thoughts and opinions on our work after we finish it, to become a better business.
Pros
Allows a business to create a fun, creative form for customers to fill out, in an easy way.
Easy to use, especially on an administrative level.
Well integrated with Google Drive, which allows for projects to be backed up to the cloud and reached on any synced computer.
Cons
Hard to figure out at first, especially without a Google account.
Customer support is almost nonexistent.
UI is minimalist and can be confusing.
Likelihood to Recommend
After doing work for a customer, administering a survey from Google Forms is very professional and allows for the customer to provide accurate feedback, thus improving your relationship with the customer and their acquaintances. Furthermore, the amount of creativity put into the forms you can create is definitely well suited to the artistically inclined.
