What is GoldMine CRM (discontinued)?

GoldMine CRM was is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for small businesses boasting at its peak over 1 millions users across verticals, a CRM solution for businesses running Windows, available for the Cloud, Mobile and on premise. The product was acquired by Ivanti, and currently is no longer available as a standalone application.

GoldMine is an excellent CRM resource for medium to large size companies.

Pros

  • Organizing trouble tickets or "cases" in customer profiles. They are associated with the customer, so you can go into any customer record and click the cases tab and sort them by any of their columns.
  • The dashboard is invaluable as a support technician. It allows me to find my trouble tickets and sort them by the date they were last updated, allowing me to continuously follow up on older ones as time goes on.
  • The integration of companies, contacts, and cases is essential, as it allows our departments to access the same pools of information efficiently.

Cons

  • GoldMine can get quite slow when you stuff it with thousands upon thousands of records, like we have.
  • Navigation with the mouse is awful, more often than not if you try to scroll up and down a list of items within a company record instead of the list, moving it switches to another customer record.
  • Integration with Outlook could be cleaner. A lot of times I have found myself having to refresh the GoldMine connection to attach emails.

Return on Investment

  • Our company prides itself on its responsiveness to customer requests. As a consequence of that, we need to be able to follow up consistently on issues until they are solved and goldmine helps us do that.
  • Because of its ease of use and wealth of information, it allows us to react to customer queries quickly and with a familiarity that instills confidence in our customers.
  • The lag on the other hand, since we have kind of choked it with too much information, slows us down. I understand we're using it for more than it was designed for, but as businesses grow and customer demands increase we need our technology to improve at the same rate.

GoldMine is used by our company to keep track of things. Using this software we can manage our customer relations in a very professional manner. It has benefited us in keeping our all emails and essential notes in one place and helped us in bypassing the risk of their loss. it has also assisted us in keeping all the contacts in one single place.

  • Its reports and forecasting are also phenomenal.
  • Keeping contacts in one place and reduces the risk of loss of contact.
  • Its email marketing feature also works very well.
  • It is professional in the management of customer relations.

Cons

  • Price should be reduced.
  • Customer service necessitates being more responsive.
  • Its dashboard is not so good.

  • Its reminder feature works excellently.
  • It is quite a reliable tool.
  • All the information related to a single person is readily available using history.

  • It can be used from simply basic to upgrading for more sophisticated clients.
  • It is easy to use when compared to other CRM systems.
  • Found to be reliable and customer support is generally prompt.

Cons

  • Would like to see reminders done, set up in more priority system.
  • Adding additional information such as personal document vault that the client can access.
  • Add the edocusign feature somehow.

Return on Investment

  • It has been a good investment but when principals do not want to add bells and whistles the system remains basic.

GoldMine - easy to use!

Pros

  • History - All items related to each individual are easily accessible in one spot
  • Succinct - All information pertaining to each student/client is available in one spot, or with very few clicks
  • Updates - GoldMine can be set to update as often as needed, which is especially useful when information is being migrated from another system

Cons

  • GoldMine itself can be a little hard to use if editing the information within the program is not enabled. This comes into play if the main information storage is another system that is migrated to GoldMine
  • Third party apps or software can be complicated to be moved into GoldMine history. It is possible, but requires some upkeep and maintenance.
  • GoldMine takes A LOT of expertise to set up. If set up incorrectly by a bad representative, then it can affect the overall usage of the program in significant ways. Make sure you ask the Goldmine rep several questions and get recommendations for the rep as well as the product.

Return on Investment

  • GoldMine has allowed our team of 15 to see immediately what impact we have on recruiting students - specifically we can track calls and messages
  • We can communicate more effectively and with more authority to students as we can be confident of what has been done for them in the past and immediately see what items they may have outstanding, with very few clicks (if any at all)
  • GoldMine allows our team to make changes to a student record in a user-friendly format and updates the record immediately. This ensures that incorrect information does not go out.
