Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use GoCo as out main HR platform. I am in it daily for most HR functions. It addresses onboarding, document retention, time keeping, employee accomplishments and areas for improvement. Love magic docs.

Cons

  • Customizing our time tracking export
  • Permissions can be tricky and I wish there were some ways to customize a bit more
  • Customizing time tracking - all Sunday hours are 1.5X, things like that
  • Being able to edit PTO in time tracking so finalizing time sheets ban be done in one screen
  • Adjusting PTO to automatically not go over 40 hours

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We moved from a completely manual HR/Payroll process to 80% online HR/Payroll process! GoCo has helped us streamline our processes and has made it easier for staff to keep track of their time and to request time off.

Pros

  • Support staff is ready to respond with any questions I have.
  • Communication about new offerings and ways to make things easier is great.
  • Site is very user friendly and easy to find what I'm/staff is looking for.

Cons

  • For the size of our organization and GoCo being our first digital platform, we have not run into many issues.
  • One thing I do wish we could have is the ability for our staff to clock in at one campus and clock out at a different campus (we have three separate campuses). To my knowledge we are not able to do this yet.

Return on Investment

  • Productivity has gone up in the HR/Payroll department. GoCo has helped us streamline our processes, what used to take us three days to complete manually, we can now do in one day, leaving time to focus elsewhere.
  • What used to take our campus administrators a day to approve time off requests (paper) it now only takes a click of a button and staff are notified immediately.
  • Staff Self-service is huge as they can look up their own information quickly at anytime of the day.

We use GoCo for time keeping, time off request and onboarding I-9 processing. We have been able to centralize some of our HR processes.

We use GoCo as our HRIS and electronic employee record. We started using GoCo when we went fully remote as a company and needed a secure way to save employee data, onboard employees, complete benefits enrollment, and get electronic signatures.

Pros

  • Benefits enrollment! We've received compliments on how easy it is to enroll each year in benefits.
  • New hire onboarding. All information is sent to new hires and they can seamlessly enter their information and read and sign all documents and agreements.
  • For the most part, the reports are easy to configure and use.

Cons

  • Work flows are confusing. I also wish there was a package that allowed two workflows instead of just one or unlimited.
  • There isn't a place to store EEOC information. We have to report on this annually and the system should be sophisticated enough to store and report on this, since they're standard forms. Instead, we're piecing together custom fields and sorting spreadsheets.
  • Document storage, destruction, and requests are clunky. There is no way to store uploaded documents other than in a folder named "uploaded." I wish we could sort files how we want. Also, after we no longer need to retain I-9 documents, there should be a way to automatically delete them, or at least send us a reminder. Finally, getting employees to upload documents is confusing.

Return on Investment

  • Implementing GoCo was an expense for our company, as we previously didn't have an HRIS. Any ROI we have is because we've saved HR time.

We use GoCo for all of our new hire onboarding tasks, our yearly health/dental benefits enrollment, our hourly time tracking, and our vacation/sick time accrual and usage, as well as our payroll/tax processing. It is a one-stop tool for completing all of these needs with ease and efficiency.

  • Ease in time tracking entry
  • Understandable Vacation and Sick time usage and balance

  • Quick and accurate payroll/tax processing

Cons

  • We would like to have the option of editing our payroll before it is fully processed (prior to the deadline times) without having to contact a GoCo associate to pull the information back to us.
  • Streamlining the number of 'clicks' it takes to move through the payroll process.
  • Allow more ease in tracking unpaid time.

Return on Investment

  • Reduced the time it takes to process payroll by 75% - a great time saver!
  • Clear and concise health benefit selection screens make open enrollment an easy process.
  • We receive fewer questions from employees on how to use the platform as it is user-friendly.
