Figma is a comprehensive tool for product design and development, widely adopted by design, product, and engineering teams. In TrustRadius reviews, it serves as a primary platform for wireframing, prototyping from low to high fidelity, and crafting graphic elements; 64% of reviewers highlight its critical role in this area. Its core strengths include robust real-time collaboration, comprehensive prototyping capabilities, and effective management of design systems, which streamline workflows and ensure consistency.
Reviewers also highlight its improved developer handoff features and the cost-effectiveness gained from pre-development visualization. However, some desire more advanced prototyping functionality, such as API integration or complex multi-page interactions. Performance can degrade with larger files, and non-designers may face a learning curve. Despite these points, the overall sentiment indicates Figma significantly accelerates development and enhances team communication.
Pros
Real-time collaborative design and iteration
Comprehensive and interactive prototyping capabilities
Effective management and consistency through design systems and components
Streamlined design-to-development handoff via Dev Mode
Accelerates product development workflows and reduces rework
Cons
Limited advanced prototyping features (e.g., API integration, complex multi-page flows)
Performance degradation and slowness with large or complex files
Steep learning curve and navigation challenges for non-designer stakeholders
As a product owner, I use Figma regularly for any design component project. I work with a designer who owns the Figma files and is responsible for transforming the gathered requirements for the project to life through designs for the project's intended UI. Figma is a great design tool that allows easy collaboration between product owners/managers, designers, and developers.
Pros
Ease of designing per requirements.
Ease of cross-functional collaboration.
Fairly easy to navigate and use, low skill entry barrier for non-designers.
Cons
There is this new functionality where you can backslash to type chat bubbles so collaborators within the file at the same time can essentially chat from where they are. It, unfortunately, has a character limit, and you have to backspace to clear what is initially written.
I have to go to dev mode to see dev notes. It would be great to be able to see dev notes from the main view somehow.

If you have a UI/UX designer or graphic designer who would like a design tool, I would recommend Figma, especially for any scenarios where you want to design how you would like a user to interface with your digital product. It's an excellent tool for developers and designers to work together to build the desired product as close to the designs/end goal as possible.
Figma is essential for me to complete my day-to-day tasks. It helps me collaborate easily with other designers, engineers and product managers to create anything quickly from basic wireframes using various plug-ins to complex high fidelity prototypes using our design systems.
Pros
Easy to use and navigate tooling to create designs
Ability to collaborate and co-design with others
Regular feature updates that optimise design creation
Cons
To become a master you have to spend a lot of time learning, some things within prototyping can take a long time to figure out
Likelihood to Recommend
I wouldn't recommend any other tool for designers when creating UI. Figma is the easiest to use with great features to help you achieve what you need to. I don't use FigJam as I find Miro is simpler for non-Figma users to grasp.

Figma has proven to be an invaluable tool for me and our product management team, especially for ideation, prototyping, and task management. FigJam allows for seamless collaboration across teams, making the brainstorming process highly efficient. The prototyping capabilities are robust, enabling quick iterations and real-time feedback internally and from our customers. Additionally, Figma is the tool I use to create artifacts in our task management software to act as our source of truth, which is essential for SOC2 compliance, ensuring all project details are well-documented, enhancing overall project management and communication.
Pros
Working with customers to understand user flows and interaction
Brainstorm use cases and user flows as they pertain to user persona
Create and access design components for quick prototyping and iteration
Cons
My design system has gotten messy, better ways to clean it up
More interactive way to work with cohorts with the goal of improving design across app
Documentation for better use cases on how to build types of components

Figma is well suited for my needs, here are a few reasons. When you need to quickly mock up the design of a new feature for our enterprise application, Figma allows me to create and test prototypes rapidly. This is crucial for gathering user feedback early and iterating on the design before development begins. Other things Figma is well suited for are maintaining consistent design across our application, and enabling a distributed team to work together simultaneously. Something that Figma doesn't do is advanced code generation, specifically within VisualStudio.

I use Figma to create an end-to-end flow of the Enterprise software on the HCM domain and mainly focus on User Experience. I also design for Design System and we have grown our design system for our organization. I am a pro in Figma and use advanced features like variables and modes, COnstraints, and Autolayout. I have made many interactive workflows using Figma. Figma is an amazing tool for Brainstorming, collaboration, and creating design flows. Review of work is also very seamless and it allows non designer to contribute comments which is very useful in my organization.
Pros
New feature of Section is very helpful for Wizards
Constraints is something I didnt find anywhere
Auto layout is magical
Variables and modes allow me to take the prototype to the next level
Cons
I use it for print designs also, if we can have few features like 3d would be good
Record the prototype presentation in fegma itsel would be great help to create help sections
currently the local components has to be in the same page if Figma allows it in same file on other page that would be great.

I have used the Figma for last 5 years and I see a lot of features, I do design for Web, Mobile, Watch, Print, and TV. I found its a perfect tool and very quick in performance. I prefer to use Figma in spite of having Photoshop and illustrator. I am using Figma for almost 8 hours a day, I give training on Advance Figma to students and to colleagues every week.
I review designs and leave comments while collaborating on designs infrequently. our business focuses on designing net new software features using dogma, while also managing old designs and updating old designs. We use it as a bridge between the business and the technical folks.
Pros
Collaboration is excellent
User experience of figma is outstanding
Tools and capabilities
Cons
Perhaps figjam could be improved

Figma is excellent for collaboration. The comment options offer a lot of flexibility. Navigating the app or web version is very intuitive and makes learning the software comfortable and easy.
