What is FastStone?

FastStone Capture is a screen capture tool and screen video recorder developed by FastStone Corporation. According to the vendor, it is a lightweight yet full-featured solution designed to meet the diverse needs of businesses of all sizes. The product allows users to capture and annotate various screen elements, including windows, objects, menus, full screen, rectangular regions, freehand regions, fixed-size regions, scrolling windows, and web pages. It also provides the capability to record screen activities, such as onscreen changes, speech from the microphone, audio from speakers, webcam footage, mouse movements, and clicks, which can be saved as highly compressed video files in MP4 and WMV formats.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use FastStone image resizer a lot! We work with several different designers, stock photos, and other images. A lot of the time the image size is too big, and with hi res images, the file size is too big. FastStone really helps us to streamline workflow, and ensures our websites will have a fast load time.

Cons

  • There is literally no room for improvement. It's the best lightweight image management software out there.

  • Time saving! I can resize 10 images in less than 10 seconds.
  • I can rename images in less 10 seconds.
  • I can email images without having to archive them, or use online storage and send a link to download.
