Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use FACTS SIS to obtain and retain student information such as phone numbers and addresses as well as authorized pick up information. We also use FACTS SIS to collect medical information, to post grades and send report cards to parents.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a small independent private K-12 school that uses FACTS for Student Management and Student Billing. We support anywhere from 750 to 800 families in FACTS and it provides all our student Demographics and allows us to use built-in reports as well as customize reports for many aspects of student management.

Pros

Allows full student/family information to be placed in student file.
Can report from any field of information including custom fields.
Creates student schedules and Classroom rosters.
Allows parents insight into grades and discipline as well as lesson plans and daily/weekly classroom topics.

Cons

Really cannot think of anything it does badly.

Most Important Features

The billing side for obvious reasons.
The admission piece is also very useful.
The reporting ability for many things is very valuable.

Return on Investment

Has paid for itself many time over with the abilities it provides.
Can be managed by as few or as many as needed so per employee cost is great.
Reporting is great for almost any topic needed all the way to How many took the ACT in spring.

We use FACTS Student Information System for all organizational purposes at our school. As a teacher, it is how I record attendance, grades, notes, report cards, getting student information, etc. As an administrator, it is how we set gradebook information, send out parent emails, store important information such as allergies, and plan our school year.

Pros

Easy to use grade book
Simple way to store and access health information, behavior reports, and family contact information.
We use FACTS in the residential aspect of our organization.

Cons

FACTS has a strong grade book application, but I wish it were simpler to go back and forth between adding assignments and adding grades.
The email (sharing) aspect of reports could be clearer.
The last thing that i have found frustrating about FACTS was how often the name changed. The transition from Renweb to Renweb 1 was atrocious, but that seems to be a struggle of the past.
