I use Expensify to document all business expenses, and to be able to approve expenses for my team. It makes it easy to capture activity as it occurs, not risking lost receipts, etc. It is a very valuable tool to use. It makes capturing and tracking expenses easy to use and very efficient.
Pros
Scan receipts
Uploads expenditures
Cons
Some restaurant charges don't pick up the added tip

I can't think of any scenarios where it would be less appropriate. It works great!
Expensify has been an incredible tool for our nonprofit organization. It allows us to empowere our managers with their own credit cards. They have an app that allows the manager to submit their spending reports. It all links to our accounting software so all transactions are imported into the correct categories. Managers can also submit reimbursements through the system. Receipts are auto generated so there is no more lost receipts!!! We love it! Oh and their cash back opportunities makes it super affordabale. I would highly recommend Expensify to any nonprofit looking for a simple way to empower your staff and helping them improve their reporting.
Pros
Credit Cards management. No different than any high quality bank card.
Expense report management. Amazingly simple and has improved our staff's reporting quality.
Reimbursement and spend approvals. You set the approval process we have multiple people who supervise approvals and the system is easy to set up and use.
Cons
They pushed a new update to the website that was confusing, but they allowed us to chose to see the original version of the website so it helped.
Like all Credit Cards fraud seems to be an issue, but I do not beleive this is unique to them. I am glad they settle these issues quickly and professionally.

This has been a game changer for our nonprofit organization. It is simple, it works well, and it empowers our people to be in control of their reporting properly. We spend enough that we typically don't pay anything for the service. A small organization may have to pay for the service without the cash back incintives cancelling out their fees.
We use Expensify primarily for our reimbursements. We love it due to the the simplicity and straightforwardness of the software. It is user friendly, intuitive, and actually looks good too! We also appreciate the mobility it gives us having an app for our phones that is powerful and has the tools necessary to get the job done, and to get it done well.
Pros
Auto Fill of categories
Ease of editing
Smoothness of operation

As stated before, since we use this primarily for purchase reimbursements, it has done well for us. I love the ease of uploading receipts either from your camera roll or by taking a photo in the app itself. This on-the-go functionality makes keeping receipts separate and/or losing receipts just about a thing of the past. And the auto scan function is fantastic. Out of the hundreds of receipts uploaded, I can count on one hand the number of times I've need to drastically edit anything.

We started using Expensify two years ago to report business expenses for reimbursement. Before we started using it, we employees had to fill out spreadsheets and send in PDFs of our receipts. The old system took me an excruciating 2 solid days of work per month. When we switched to Expensify, that workload dropped to less than four hours per month immediately. My colleagues across the organization reported similar dramatic shifts in workload.
Pros
Both app and browser interface are intuitive and easy to learn.
The receipt-scanning function saves hours of data entry. I work in Europe, and it even decodes foreign language/currency receipts reliably.
Simple to split receipts between different reimbursement accounts.
Cons
Sometimes the app is slow to scan receipts.
When splitting a receipt, you can't change all the expense's details. Instead, you need to save the split and then re-enter the split-off expense to edit the details. It's minor, but it adds an extra step.

Expensify is a great time and energy saver when reporting business expenses. It's intuitive and easy to use in any situation, but is especially valuable when traveling, as you can quickly scan a receipt on the fly.
We used Expensify to provide our team with an easy way to submit expenses for reimbursement. We used Expensify to submit receipts for travel, dining, and other various expenses while working. Our company also provided a quarterly benefit to employees, which we were able to easily track and submit receipts for purchases by using the Expensify app.
Pros
Easy to upload receipts with a variety of file types
Saves time by smart reading the files you upload
The app is sleek, fast, and intuitive
Cons
The auto-scanning feature on receipts didn't work 100% of the time. However, it was extremely easy to fix any errors manually, so this wasn't much of an issue for me.
Likelihood to Recommend
Expensify is highly recommended for tracking and managing expenses and issuing reimbursements. It's also ideal for generating reports on individual or teamwide spending. As an employee, this was my only and primary use case for Expensify and it worked extremely well. I actually prefer it to the platform that our team switched to.

I use Expensify to submit expense reports to the accounting team and keep track of my budget. It's very helpful to divide expenses when multiple departments share costs as well as keep track of everything that goes into a specific project code. It's easy to submit for review and it intuitively tells me if I'm missing anything from each expense.
Pros
Project Codes are easy to use
Expenses can be shared among departments
Easy Receipt uploading
Cons
Using the app across devices can have delays
Sometimes the auto categorizing feature chooses the wrong budget category, and it would have been more noticeable if it was left blank
Likelihood to Recommend
Expensify is well suited for midsized companies with multiple departments that need collaboration and an accounting team that can easily address any technical issues with the app. Smaller companies would have a harder time using Expensify if someone wasn't directly assigned to manage the program to pick up on any issues.

We are all using it because it's so easy to use. The mobile-friendliness is the key component. Most of us who do sales HATE keeping up with expenses, and the ability to use the scanning/picture functions are two of the things we like best. If we are on a business lunch, we can take the full receipt and have it scanned and be done.
Pros
Converting pictures of restaurant receipts is a big plus.
I can tag different accounts and clients very easily.
Cons
I don't see the Concierege function having much use for what I do.
Likelihood to Recommend
When I add the tip to a restaurant bill I can use the picture function to "back up" what I submit on an expense report. I hate keeping all those receipts, but I really hate having to divert my attention from a client to add my tip to my copy. It sounds trivial, but if we are having a good conversation I don't want to stop what we are talking about (usually me selling some idea!) and have to re-add my tip to my receipt.
Our company doesn't have company credit cards, so any expenses are paid by the employee's personal credit card (although many of us purchase a card we only use for work) and then are reimbursed by the company through Expensify. The whole organization uses it. However, as an organization where a few members travel internationally for work, those traveling members use it pretty consistently and for pretty significant amounts. Expensify addresses the problem of staff getting reimbursed in a quick and efficient way (and doesn't require saving a bunch of physical receipts), and our accountant is satisfied with the legal and financial side of it as well.
Pros
Link to credit card.
Easy tagging for company.
Cons
Email to Expensify can create duplicates.
Some credit cards aren't easily linked.
Likelihood to Recommend
Expensify is pretty much well suited for any company where staff members need to get reimbursed. However, there is a cost associated with the number of users. So, if your organization doesn't really need the reimbursement feature or it happens infrequently, this isn't really the best fit. I'm using Expensify to comp my expenses every other month or so, so it's been extremely helpful for myself and for our financial team.
We are currently using Expensify across the whole organization. It helps us especially with our reimbursements for our sales team that travels the most often. For now we are only using it for reimbursement purposes and so far it has been a great tool and is easy to navigate and use.
Pros
SmartScan - easy to upload receipts.
Putting things into categories - helpful when you have a lot of receipts.
Cons
SmartScan - it often can take a long time if you have multiple receipts.
Auto-categorizing - sometimes the software reads the receipt incorrectly.
Likelihood to Recommend
Expensify is great if you have teams that are often needing to expense things like travel and dinners. We have some people who use it for one-off reimbursements and that has been super helpful as well. Great when you want easy reimbursements, but it can be difficult with a smaller company like mine where the CEO is still doing the reimbursements and it takes up time.
