Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Expensify throughout our local brand and our parent company. I am so happy we switched from our previous application. Expensify is so easy to use, especially the mobile version. Now, when I take my team out to lunch, I can just take a picture of the receipt instead of having to scan it, save it, and upload.

Likelihood to Recommend

I believe Expensify would be a benefit to most companies, large or small. The price is pretty average for what you get, and the ease of use is helpful for employees or owners who are not so tech savvy.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Expensify is used to enter and track expenses on a per employee basis. In construction, there are always spontaneous expenses to keep the job running, which are to be logged and tracked for the accounting department. Expensify simplifies all of this with its platform interface, and automated tracking data, significantly helping with time and headaches for the end-user.

Pros

  • Scanning and entering information found on receipts
  • Keeping all expenses separate and itemized
  • Making the "audit" and verification process easy to navigate
  • Giving the accounting team and concise, coherent review and report of all end-users expenses.

Cons

  • There isn't much I would change with the Expensify app. I think it is a fantastic software.

Likelihood to Recommend

Tracking any and all expenses is clearly Expensify's main and best feature, which there isn't much to improve on.

Expensify is very useful for credit card reconciliation

Our company uses American Express for our purchases, and cards are issued to certain team members. Expensify is integrated with our company Amercian Express accounts. The bills land in Expensify after the charges are completed. Once the charges are available in Expensify, I reconcile the charges with the receipts from the cards.

Pros

  • Ease of finding the transactions
  • Not having to look for the monthly American Express statement
  • Keeping totals as current as possible

Cons

  • I think the charges should show up instantaneously
  • Some of the charges I see are combined
  • Some of the charges cannot be matched to the receipt

Likelihood to Recommend

When you need to reconcile the statements of a credit card/Amex, the charges take a couple of days to show up and if you enter the transactions manually the transaction is reflected twice, and we do not have the ability to erase the transactions. And some charges are combined

I use Expensify to track my expenses and produce my expense account. Love the app as I am often on the road and I can upload quickly and easily my expenses and forget about it :).

I worked with other expense tools in the past and I estimate I spend approximatly 70% less time and efforts to produce a report.

I love the fact that my report can be pushed automatically at a pre determine time: that way, I do not miss any deadline and I get my payment very quickly

I love the ease of use of the app: you just have to take a picture of your invoice and the system will do the rest! In some situations, I have to select the expense category, but usually all fields are completed automatically.

Expensify is perfect for someone who is always on the road and want to log his invoices immediatly. That way, if I lose my invoice, it is already in Expensify

We use Expensify across our entire company to manage employee reimbursements (i.e. per diems and mileage for field team) and to manage company credit card transaction reporting for all employees. With over 50 employees in multiple states on multiple projects using the company card for hotel and travel costs we are easily able to ensure all receipt and all job costing occurs weekly for every employee and ensure every employee is reimbursed within a week for all approved travel expenses.

Pros

  • Sync with corporate credit card account so that every transaction appears in Expensify requiring receipts and job tags
  • Simple and organized use for employees via mobile app
  • ACH reimbursements

Cons

  • Does not sync with Quickbooks desktop well. We had to move to manual import of job data and manual export of all financial data.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for credit card reconciliation and employee reimbursements. Customer service has improved in time and response greatly over the past year. We are hoping the sync/integration with financial software will also improve.
