We use EvolutionX to bring our in-store offerings online, making them available for delivery or in-store pickup. It's a vital communication tool for our customers, keeping them informed about new products and current promotions. Additionally, it allows customers to conveniently view and pay their orders, invoices, and statements online. The website enhances our professional image and builds customer trust—something that's increasingly expected in today's market.

  • Easy use for those that have never built a website before.
  • Pulls live data for pricing and stock qty from spruce.
  • Someone from EvolutionX is assigned to the account to assist with questions and issues that might arise.

Cons

  • More store themes or improved ability to alter the theme.
  • Improved menu creation functions. Menus feel basic and hard to create multiple drop down menus from the menu bar. This would help better organize information for easy access to the customer.
  • Make easy for store items to be pulled by google for googles online marketplace. We have found no way to get our items to pull in the google merchant center. Google has recently made some changes that have helped here but still a vast majority of items are not being pulled.
  • We enjoy using groups and badges but it feels like unnecessary steps to get them all placed. Creating the group, then creating the badge seems like it could all be done in one area. It would be nice to be able to assign multiple groups to the same badge if needed.
  • Configurable product groups and master products are also great functions but are time consuming to set up, it would be nice to see this somehow streamlined into one screen to get all set up. Currently you have to bounce between three screens just to get things working.
  • Improved Product Management. Adding in a sequential edit function and easier filtering to find and isolate products needing to be edited.
  • Move the "location" selection away from the top of the screen. This is lost to shoppers, they either are just not seeing it or it is not easy to understand that you click to change. I find homedepot.com places this right next to the search bar and that seems to be highly effective. It would also be nice to add the closing time for the selected location next to it as well, similar to how homedepot is doing it.
  • Improve the shipping functions. This has been a difficult pinch point, really seems to be keeping people from pulling the trigger and ordering. We switched to a UPS api for a bit, but the rates where outrageous and way over what we actually paid. I am sure it comes to rate negotiated with UPS, but with many companies already offering pre negotiated rates we would rather opt to use an API from shippo or pirateship that displays already low rates. Being able to easily trim down your shipping radius would be nice. Store to door delivery we say 30 miles, but had to individually find and place rules for each zip - this seems like it could be better handled with a radius and a computer pulling the needed data for that radius.
  • Don't automatically opt customers in for added paid services. I may not have the best understanding of this new ada requirement and this new audio thing but from what I read it seems everyone is automatically put on it and we have to get in and cancel in order to avoid the extra charge. This I dont even believe was sent in an email but only on the EvolutionX messenger. I will be honest, we deal with so many different messengers / social platforms that adding this in as the main point for communication does not work for us and will always be an afterthought. We do always have email open, this would be the easy way to reach the customer in my opinion.

EvolutionX is great at getting a large catalog online in a hurry. Though the editing may take some time, the pull is a great feature to get you started. EvolutionX will give you the most professional looking site right out of the gate vs the competitors we have viewed. The person assigned to your account is a nice benefit and are very helpful and efficient this is an even bigger plus for those with no coding experience. EvolutionX may not be the best option for a small business, though the website may make you look like the big dogs it doesn't function as well yet. The cost of the service is high compared to what the customer gets from it after the initial set up and is the main reason why this isnt the best solution for a small business. It would be nice to see the price to be able to scale down or up in price with how well the site is doing after a set amount of time.

We use EvolutionX to power our eCommerce store - and our online shopping. EvolutionX allows us to serve our customers online - both B2B and B2C - and provides them with a whole suite of powerful tools (online shopping, account management, etc). We love it because it gives our store a much broader reach, allowing us to effectively sell our products throughout The Bahamas.

  • More integration options in the app store.
  • Better functionality with Spruce Accounts - the onboarding / account creation process can be improved to be a bit more seamless.

Likelihood to Recommend

Personally, I think EvolutionX is particularly well-suited for all Spruce ERP customers - the seamless integration between the two makes it easy as it can be to add a digital storefront to your existing brick & mortar business. But, even for non Spruce customers, EvolutionX is still a great platform for hosting your webstore - particularly well suited for building material retailers & lumberyards.

Why we chose EvoX with Spruce POS integration? Our customers are contractors working for

multiple clients. Clients constantly call for missing invoices, have questions

about orders, deposits & material

lists (including purchase history). The portal gives customers access to vital information

& frees up our staff for sales. Our customers love the portal. They find it easy to navigate and like to make payments before the due date, using credit card or ACH.

I love that I can login from the storefront and

"see what the customer sees". I can help them to navigate the portal.

Evo X makes it easy to upload art, create

banners, content pages and layouts that look professional without hiring a

design team! I post weekly blogs and events - I love that I can refresh

the content as needed. The platform will redirect content based

on my edits. Even the most inexperienced site builder will find the

product user friendly. (I had basic knowledge of the process and no

specific art or web design training prior.) The process for adding brands, links, html and products is fool

proof. EvoX is a user-friendly product. I

am doing the entire site myself, and it's manageable. The support team

have been with us 100%!

  • tools to build pages & content are easy to use

Cons

  • tutorials do not always cover all the questions
  • when I find an issue with dev I find it best to add lots of documentation as it might be a new issue with our branch
  • Before we did anything we should have gone through our inventory completely...that has been a major setback for us...bc it's not organized for online sales

Very well designed so any user who learns the program can update their own pages without the expertise of outside designers. Amy, Charlee and the team have just been super helpful every step of the way getting us from zero to on our way to Ecommerce!

There are a few things need to be worked on like how we can sell or take orders for windows, doors, other custom items that we sell but are not part of inventory... bc the items exist for sales but will never be part of the online marketplace for lack of skus..

The initial on boarding with a dedicated acct manager is great. Once your released you need to become friends with some people in support who will take care of you a little faster than the rest

Choosing EvolutionX was made as the business needed an enhanced client experience. To date, we have consolidated 12 webstores over 4 different platforms. Turning our websites into webstores was the best part of selecting EvolutionX Giving us the flexibility to manage the sites inhouse gave us back the freedom to be able to connect to other service providers.

We are a safety supplies/PPE distributor, & we highlight some of our more popular or commonly stocked items on EvolutionX. Having a user-friendly website where customers can quickly order what they need, or where other individuals can find us online is huge in this industry. Many people prefer doing everything online these days, & I'm glad we can offer that. It's nice to be able to make customized customer accounts that show them their specific price on items, allows them to customize things how they'd like to, add multiple users, etc.

Pros

  • Being able to have multiple items show on one page

Cons

  • On the backend, it would be nice to be able to COPY a similar sku to edit and make its own - creating items takes too long
  • The option for drop downs for different colors / sizes / etc. could be nice
  • The ability to export pricing where you can see the cost too would be nice

Customers love having their own online account that shows their current pricing on items. We love this too, as when you put in the specific markup they receive on each item, the price will automatically change for them. All we need to worry about is updating our costs then.

The big bugaboo for me is the fact that we cannot simply copy a SKU. Being a PPE supplier there are thousands of items that are similar (ex: glasses just with a different lens color), where being able to copy and edit what you need would be ideal. There are so many items we'd like to add to our site at times, but we think about the time that it would require and sometimes we do not follow through with adding because of this issue

EvolutionX is our main platform we use to establish an online presence (PPE supply store). Here we are able to keep track of customers, orders, their order history, special pricing, run promos, & target specific customers based on their purchase history. We also utilize the platform for writing helpful PPE related blogs. Overall a pretty easy to use platform with a lot more capabilities than what I mentioned!

Pros

  • Very easy to onboard products
  • Pricing updates are easy due to bulk editing (export to excel -> import back to EvoX)
  • It's easy to run promotions / sales with just a few clicks
  • SEO options with ready to grab site map

Cons

  • They don't allow you to create multiple products at once. For example we have a glove with the part #9699. It is available in sizes S-2XL. If I was to want to add these to our site, I would have to create each size individually which isn't always as efficient. I wish there was a "copy from" feature.
  • It can be difficult to see your updates immediately. - Sometimes their update queue gets overloaded and you won't be able to see your updates until about a half hour later. Again, not very ideal when trying to run down a line of tasks to complete as you have to check back on them to see if all is good.
  • It can be hard to change the rotating banner on the home page. Or, I should say it's hard to get the exact sizing so content doesn't get cut off from that banner.

<div>If you're looking to build an online presence and are able to be profitable while paying for this platform, it's a great platform that typically ranks pretty high on google if you do your SEO well.

We use EvolutionX for our office supplies business at Jenkinsons UK, and it's been a game-changer for us. Being B2B-focused, we faced a lot of headaches with other platforms, but since switching to EvolutionX, everything runs much smoother. We can quickly customize prices and promotions, upload products and catalogs with just a click, and process orders faster than ever. Our clients love it, and so do we!

  • Running a promotion is really easy and simple.
  • Product search is great.
  • Integration with many other software and services is well supported.

Cons

  • As I already mentioned some testing button for email templates would be great.
  • It would be great that there are more themes that people can choose from.
  • Even thought there are lots of training videos I would like to see even more especially on some advanced features and capabilities.

Likelihood to Recommend

EvolutionX is great for B2B sale and can accommodate many use cases to feet different clients needs.

It is loaded with different marketing tools that can be utilized in broad meaner.

Some areas of improvement would be maybe to think to give more power to user, for instance some feature that business can have stock level for instance withing my account area and can receive notification when stocks of paper for instance are low.
