A great MFP monitoring and management platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

There is a need to monitor customer usage for multifunction devices for billing purposes. A manual process is very labor intensive and has the risk of human error. Printanista addresses that need by automating the process at reliable, fixed intervals. Data is then imported to another system so proper billing can be applied.

Pros

  • Regular, consistent reporting of MFP data
  • Easy to manage software with user-friendly interface.
  • Vendor support is available and timely in their responses.

Cons

  • Tweak the search bar to return results on another screen rather than a dynamic dropdown list
  • Provide links within the local application for server and client software update release notes.

Return on Investment

  • Allows for timely and accurate billing of customers for their true usage
  • Supplies are monitored at an interval you set so replenishment can ship for uninterrupted service
  • Errors are captured so service technicians can get an accurate picture of the issue even before heading on-site for a call.

Keeping Print Fleets Running Smoothly From [...]

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

A Senior Account Executive at [...], I’ve spent over 21 years managing print supply needs—specializing in LaserJet and thermal printing. I support clients nationwide, including multi-location operations and offices out in Hawaii. Some call me the “toner psychic”—I always seem to know when a printer is about to run low. While I’d love to claim pure intuition, Printanista is among my best trade secrets. Don't worry, I can't be sued for saying that, we're quite proud to share that name! This platform virtually gives me real-time visibility into many of my customers’ print fleets, once they've signed up for the discount program that goes along with our remote monitoring. I'm sent detailed alerts the moment supplies start to dip. It allows me to proactively reach out, restock, and keep everything running smoothly—before anyone even knows there’s an issue. Just because I use software doesn’t mean I’ve lost my psychic edge—it just means I’ve got smart backup. Printanista helps me support my clients like I’m right there in the building, even when I’m thousands of miles away. It’s a powerful tool that lets me deliver fast, proactive service—and helps my clients avoid downtime and surprise supply shortages.

Pros

  • Provides an easy to navigate and customize dashboard with great informative breakdowns from printer models to usage and more.
  • Shows details about each printer, including meters, supplies, service errors, and historical data.
  • Helps me proactively takes care of my complex clients' needs.

Cons

  • Sensing or sending firmware updates

Return on Investment

  • It's a critical part of our plan to lock in long term MPS agreements.
  • It helps me to troubleshoot what providing technical support or working with technicians.
  • I learn about other printers that the customers have, so it enables me to cross sell based on devices I wasn't previously aware of that they were buying from someone else.

In my opinion, A good competitor for FMAudit

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Printix and Printerlogic are the some of the favorites we used in the past to monitor customers and make sure that their levels are always in line where they need to be. We mainly use the software to manage printers for customers remotely. We are one of the largest wholesalers for Printers and also lease them out, so Printanista is a good choice to monitor those printer for typical issues customers have remotely.

Pros

  • Checking meter readings for printers
  • Easy to deploy to servers and jumpboxes
  • Easy to configure the port so that information flows back to us on the printers

Cons

  • The software can become corrupted and need to be installed again.
  • There is a learning curve when teaching new employees how to deploy and monitor levels.
  • Readings from the Cloud servers and not always accurate and may be delayed.

Return on Investment

  • Customer satisfaction scores increased by 5%
  • We were able to grow our print side of the business by 10% this year
  • Technicians are aware of when a printer goes down and they get alerted

  • most of the time the RUI fails
  • Does not successfully alert for Photoconductor/MK kits

Return on Investment

  • Printanista is so unreliable we have to spend extra hours monitoring it so our customer experience doesn't fail.
