We use Echobox to facilitate content from our website to Facebook and X. We were told the software would pay for itself by virtue of increased referral traffic, however that traffic has decreased since we initially began using the service in 2022.

If you're simply looking to save time and have content auto-posted to social media platforms, it's fine. If you are truly concerned about keeping up with algorithms and maximizing engagement through social media, Echobox cannot keep pace with the rapidly changing networks.

When we asked to cancel the software, we were pointed to terms and conditions on their website. At no point while using the software were we directly contacted about auto-renewals or updates to the terms. Unless you reach out to them, you will never hear from your customer service representative.

When we made it clear we were ready to leave, they provided us with the following option:

Option 1: In return for granting an early cancellation of your subscription contract, we kindly request that you leave two top-rated reviews on each of the following platforms: Capterra, G2, TrustRadius, and Google. Once you provide evidence of these reviews and we've had a chance to review them, we can proceed with the contract cancellation.

I would be wary of the positive reviews you see as they have clearly created a system to get "top rated" reviews from customers who are concerned about their service.

We have been using Echobox Social for a year to manage our social media output across X, Facebook and LinkedIn, across two publications.

Echobox Social is helping us solve reduced social traffic due to the deprioritisation of news content by the social platforms, and is also helping a small team increase social output and save time with what was previously more manual posting.

Pros

It has improved our social media team's workflow, allowing more time to focus on content creation and strategy. The RSS feed input and easy-to-use interface mean we can manage multiple social platforms effectively and efficiently.
By recommending articles with high virality scores that align with our reshare settings, it saves the team time and helps us optimise our content based on trending topics. The ability to easily reshare evergreen content has helped drive increased traffic to our websites, and the duplicate post function has been a really useful way of boosting our content output and social performance.
The Echobox Social team are always really quick to respond to any issues we are experiencing and these are usually resolved just as quickly.

Cons

We would like the ability to add ALT text for image posts on X and schedule threads on X.
We have also suggested some improvements to the analytics, such as the ability to export each channel individually, and the ability to export analytics by post classification.

Likelihood to Recommend

Echobox Social is well suited to publishers and media organisations who are publishing daily online content that needs sharing across social platforms. It works best if your social media objective is driving traffic to your articles/website. It would be suitable for both small and large organisations, as it allows multiple users with different access.

We use Echobox to increase our social media traffic. We are a news site about transport and urban mobility in Brazil and we spend a lot of time posting our materials manually. We decided to adopt Echobox to automate this procedure, with the advantage of the tool choosing the best location to ensure more engaged reading, which allows us to increase our website's audience. Thanks to the use of Echobox, initially on Facebook, in the first three months we saw a 20% growth in our traffic, which led to an increase in visitors to our website by around 12%

everything the new articles are published. As for the downside of using Echobox

would be the time suggested for scheduling which sometimes can be very early in

the morning or late night when the users are not usually only. And that results

in low engagement, obviously.

We publish articles at the ten-minute level. So, a lot of content indeed. Imagine how much time Echobox has saved us, if you know that he has completely abolished the manual sharing of content on social networks. So he does everything himself. Ours is just to work on the site. Besides publishing himself, he also thinks and predicts for us. It calculates (and guesses) the right time and audience to market a specific article. This brought us a significant increase in visits to our media site.

Instagram often loses connection with Echobok, although it seems to me that it is Instagram, not Echobox, because the connection loss happens when we try to log in to the same profile from multiple devices.

As a media portal, we publish articles that are very current and must be shared immediately, and we also have articles that are not so urgent. In both cases, Echobox proved to be outstanding. Marking the article as "breaking" he publishes it on all related channels and social networks within 15 minutes and we have always had an excellent reception from the audience. When it comes to articles that are not so urgent for sharing, Echobox shows all his superiority here - just be patient and believe that he will find the right time and the right audience. Totally unbelievable.

This is definitely at the core of our strategy as a company. Echobox made our social media editors’ lives much easier. It is an intuitive, very useful and quick-to-learn tool. We use to spend so much time posting on the different platforms individually. With Echobox, having all of our accounts on one tool has been a substantial time saver. The feature that sold us on going with Echobox is the time-slot one, adding a score above the posts, suggesting if that is relevant at that time, and letting the algorithm post at the most suitable time.
