I have been a Dropbox user for about a decade and love it. Dropbox allows me to organize my files and access them from any computer and my phone. It has simplified my business and my life! I have recommended dropbox to many other friends in the real estate industry and it has been a game changer for them as well. I am no longer anchored to my laptop!!
Pros
Organizes files.
Easily accessible.
Syncs files quickly.
Cons
The online dashboard is somewhat cluttered. I prefer a clean list of my files. I don't need to see the recents, etc.

It has been great for my real estate business as I have many files and need to keep them for a minimum of 5 years. I use it for business and personal files to stay organized. I don't care to use it for photo storage as I feel that it takes up too much space, and I prefer to keep them separate.
Vital documents that I may need to use at home, from my phone, and share with my boss are on Dropbox. I use very regular on my phone. We use for real estate. Save lease forms, rental correspondence, etc that is sent to new guests.
Pros
Save Documents
Share Folders
Easy reverence from multiple devices
Cons
Some difficulty sharing folder because I don't do often
Wish I could save changes on both Dropbox and a desktop version and changes hit both

When you need passwords and not in the office.
When you need info to be shared with multiple in the office and updated on regular basis.
I use Dropbox to download and store photos of my real estate listings. I like using Dropbox because I have a place where I can allow my transaction coordinator to also access the images for uploading my photos to the MLS. I store these pictures on Dropbox for future use as well, especially in the case where a property that is leased comes available again. Using Dropbox keeps me from exceeding my device's memory.
Pros
Easy to access photos when away from my device
Easy to organize and find images/documents
Easy to share access
Cons
Periodically, I download to Dropbox but can't find where they went
Sometimes, I think data gets lost
More transparency on storage capacity and future cost
Likelihood to Recommend
Dropbox is great for storing files off device that can be accessed from anywhere. It may not be the best choice if you have a massive amount of data to store, because it does max out and additional storage is required, so definitely check to see what your needs are and what that translates to expense-wise on Dropbox.

Good: The ability to share documents on the go. Viewing of documents on the go. Transfer of a large volume of files from one device to another. Bad: Viewing of stored video in the app. Editing of documents in the app. Converting file formats and opening password-locked documents.
We use Dropbox to store all our business files. We have also begun using the signature feature to get documents signed. The main problem Dropbox addresses for us is allowing all of our personnel access to our files from any location on all of our computers and devices.
Pros
File Storage
Easy Access
Great signature platform to get documents signed
Cons
I honestly can't think of anything
Likelihood to Recommend
I was mobil and had a deadline to get a document signed and was able to use the Dropbox Sign feature to send the document from a mobile location to get it signed in time. Also accessing files from a mobile location is great.
We use Dropbox to transfer real estate seller's financial documents to us, the real estate brokers, then to potential buyers of the residential assisted living facilities. We often have large files of information that the seller needs to transfer to us that wouldn't be suitable for email because the files span several years and are generally too large to email. We also send pictures of the property by including them in Dropbox.
Pros
Large video or picture files
Large files of financial documents
Backup documents for transaction, such as bank and credit card stmts
Saving transaction documents such as purchase and sale agreements.
Large contracts, such as leases and solar agreements.
Cons
Seperating different transactions into individuals folders
Likelihood to Recommend
We are real estate brokers specializing in senior care facilities. We often have transactions where the seller of the property must transfer large files of financial documents, such as profit and loss statements for several years, balance sheets, payroll detail and summaries, pictures and videos. We, as brokers, must then review information, then send documents for review to potential buyers. Files generally too large to email.

We use it in terms of sending documents to external sources, such as potential investors, legal consultants, construction, PR & Media, External Marketing agencies, Accounting. We use this is as a broad scale platform that allows us to share specific documents without risking our internal data.
Pros
Organization tools
Ease of external exporting
User-friendly platform
Great customer service
Cons
Potentially maybe expanding the linking options to be a bit more niche of options?
Color coded system/design to differentiate folders, etc
Likelihood to Recommend
I think it's well suited if you work with a lot of external organizations. If not, if you're working with an agency, i.e., a place where a lot of work is done internally and most of the time have their own systems, or things are shared directly with clients as it is client facing, it may not be the best option.

I am a real estate photographer. Dropbox is the lifeblood of my business in terms of delivering content to my clients. So, why am I looking for a replacement? Because, in my opinion, Dropbox prioritized user acquisition for the company over ease of use for paying clients like myself. How? I have the Dropbox app on my Macbook and right click "transfer a copy" on a folder I want to share with a client. Dropbox makes a link. Perfect. I email the link to the client. They receive my email with a Dropbox "download" link for the media I sent. Perfect. What could go wrong. Well, let me tell you... When they click download, the files DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Instead, they are taken to another screen where in 30 point font at the top it reads "Log In or Sign Up" and the top 3/4 of the message is about them creating a Dropbox account. At the VERY bottom in 8 point font it says "or continue with download only." Too many clients just see that they need an account, they don't want to make an account. So they close the window and email me to send the files another way. In my opinion, this is because Dropbox prioritizes user acquisition for Dropbox over a seamless transfer of files for my business on my PAID account. Frankly, I feel it's tacky and insulting. If the top 3/4 was a big, bold download link and the bottom 1/4 was a "create an account" option, I could live with it, but in my experience, your ad is preventing my clients from getting my media which delays me being paid. I will continue to use Dropbox, but I am actively looking for a replacement and I have stopped recommending Dropbox to other photographers for this very reason. A file transfer company that makes people jump through hoops to transfer files. What a disappointment.
Pros
Create transfers
Cons
Stop putting a priority on new users over users being able to download files
Likelihood to Recommend
The fact that the "download" button on a dropbox link DOES NOT DOWNLOAD the media, but instead leads to:"Log in or sign up
Download the file now and share it with others on Dropbox" in 30 point font and then in 8 point font at the botton says "Or continue with download only"

At my company Dropbox is used are our shared file drive, as well as our induvial file drive. It is where all files are stored and is essential for all functions of the company. The product allows a small company to have full share site capabilities at a fair price and is extremely easy to use even if not on my main work computer.
Pros
Ease of use
Easy to create folders and organize
Easy to share with others
Easy to use on desktop and browser
Cons
More security
Better capability on desktop
Less unnecessary notifications
Likelihood to Recommend
In terms of well suited, it is great for small business or smaller sized firms. It's fairly priced and very easy to use. It also is very easy to share files with colleagues. It's also great when working with external partners due to the ease of file sharing, especially large folders. It is probably not best suited for large companies as their main shared site.
