Dayforce is the way to go

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dayforce to keep track of our 700+ employees. We use reporting and analytics to combat turnover, increase productivity through scheduling, and to make strategic decisions. Data showed that we have been able to reduce labor costs and increase profits for the company by making changes we were only able to notice through the power of Dayforce reporting & scheduling.

Pros

  • Provide data/analytics to create customized reports to fit the needs of our company
  • Make it easy to adhere to state laws/updates us when there are any changes
  • Is user-friendly and has many ways of filtering data to find what you are looking for. provides detailed information we need

Cons

  • Remove 2 page timesheets and perhaps add 2 week view per employee on one page
  • Reports going to inbox, downloading them, and opening them (too many steps) a quick preview should be provided
  • Dayforce customer support takes too long to respond/solve inquiries

Likelihood to Recommend

We are a production company that sees high turnover rates, time theft, and high labor costs. Dayforce provides a very detailed time-keeping system. Displays errors, Worked not scheduled, scheduled not worked, all key features needed to analyze productivity, turnover, etc. Reports allow you to see specific data, trends to show our company how to remain competitive and profitable.

Dayforce is a great fit for large enterprise organizations

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The business problems that Dayforce addresses is creating a very modular approach to our Global organization. While other HRIS systems were more exact in the set up that we could implement, Dayforce really lets us have more control over the structure that we design for our org in our system. The modularity allows us to better plan for our workforce future.

Pros

  • I really enjoy the ticketing system in Dayforce. We previous HRIS systems, I always had to call and stay on the phone when I needed help. The ticketing system much better fits my needs because I can easily put in a ticket and continue working.
  • I enjoy being connected with a CSM following implementation. Our CSM has been key in working out any kinks in our system.
  • I enjoy the Dayforce Education portal where I can upskill and learn on-demand.

Cons

  • A lot of reps that get assigned to tickets can be from other locations outside the US. Sometimes this can be difficult if the issue involves a US-based payroll or benefit issue.
  • In certain areas, the system could be more user friendly. Sometimes key things are hidden away and make it hard to find unless someone is able to show you.
  • The user interface could be a little bit livened up and "prettier."

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Dayforce is a great option for a large and/or Global organization. I do not think it would be the best fit for a very small company or business. It really shines for enterprise organizations with multi-locations. While a small business could use it, I would say it has too many bells and whistles that might feel overwhelming to a smaller organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We operate three different divisions, in three different states, each with their own company policies and procedures, as well as unique state requirements, making our HR/Payroll/Time/Benefits processes complex. Dayforce has helped us to streamline and customize our processes and policies within the platform, where no other system has before. We have control over the configuration of our own system, and do not need to call Dayforce when we need or want to make a change to suit our business, allowing us to act more quickly to meet business demands.

Pros

  • Nearly unlimited customization. Other systems you can customize but only within a specific set of system parameters. With Dayforce those parameters do not exist and we can create a system that is entirely unique to us.
  • Payroll is more thorough than other systems, and we've already caught potential compliance issues that our previous system did not, allowing us to take action to mitigate risk to the organization
  • Employee engagement is also more productive with Dayforce. Our previous system did not have an internal employee job board, and employees didn't often apply for other opportunities in the organization. With Dayforce, we have already seen an uptick in employee applications to open positions.

Cons

  • As we are still new to the system and learning, I can really only speak to one area that we've noticed. You often times have to go to multiple different areas to make one change. For example, with recruiting and adding a document, you often have to go to multiple sections of the system to create the topic, upload the document, assign it, attach it, and publish it. This could be streamlined to all being done in a single area.

Likelihood to Recommend

Dayforce is well suited for organizations that want a high level of customization from their HR system, business complexities and have the capabilities to manage the configuration on an ongoing basis.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dayforce is our one source for HR, Recruiting, WFM, Payroll and Benefits.

Pros

  • Calculation of pay and deductions
  • a
  • a

Cons

  • Don't listen to their customers' ideas for improvement, only concerned about what they want they think we need
  • The complexity of writing our own custom reports. Every business has their own needs, and the canned reports don't always take care of that
  • Customer support - finding someone that can answer the questions correctly can be very difficult
  • The fact you cannot export out Organization Hierarchy

Likelihood to Recommend

Most functionality is great and with a proper implementation and a knowledgeable internal team, you can program it to do just about anything you need.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dayforce from everything from Onboarding through the entire employee lifecycle, payroll, reporting etc. Dayforce makes it easy to maintain accurate employee information. It also provides easy avenues of two-way communication between the company and its employees. It gives the employee a one stop shop for all their needs including pay, pto, and a place to find policies and procedures.

Pros

  • Employee maintenance
  • Payroll
  • Reporting

Cons

  • Safety Measures/Reporting

Likelihood to Recommend

Overall Dayforce is a user-friendly system and helps maintain accurate and up to date information. The accuracy of the records helps give accurate reporting on t=our business needs. There is still some functionality that it is missing, though they are constantly working to improve in those areas and have good open communication and helps channels.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Ceridian Dayforce is used for many of its applications, at our company. I personally use Ceridian Dayforce to generate and process payroll. We also use the onboarding, recruiting, time management systems and are currently in the process of implementing other modules such as compensation.

Pros

  • provides a platform that has easy to use navigation.
  • provides additional services and information to stay up to date on relevant and impactful information.
  • has an internal system of checks and balances to make sure data in all parts of the system is accurate.

Cons

  • accessibility to instant support. Not every question should require a case to be logged. There should be a chat feature built right into different areas of the system where if I am in payroll, for example, and don't understand how to resolve an error, I can send a message to get instant clarity/support/help.
  • edit capabilities and better format options on the fixed format reports. We should be able to have an option to convert a fixed report into a customizable report and have more than just PDF as a format option on most of the payroll reports.

Likelihood to Recommend

For a system to allow for more independence and management, Ceridian Dayforce is it. Once you know the ins and outs of the system and where to perform certain actions and how to edit the ability of certain functions, you realize that you have a system that will serve to meet just about every need.

Ceridian Dayforce - strong suite of products that can be great.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dayforce is our Payroll Engine system for timekeeping and Time & Attendance management. We also use the Performance, Talent, Compensation, and Learning modules of Dayforce. Dayforce Wallet is another product that is rolled out across North America. This helps us have a one-stop-shop HCM solution for our region where everything from employee master data to payroll data to performance data lives, giving us a homogeneous platform to perform most of our HR calendar activities and then leveraging that rich data set to drive meaningful analytics.

Pros

  • Custom reporting.
  • Time management, Time & attendance
  • Compensation planning.

Cons

  • Elections management.
  • Retirement arrears management.
  • Talent card.

Likelihood to Recommend

Strengths - 1. Payroll engine - strong, intuitive, user friendly 2. Time management - pretty strong out-of-the-box offering, capable of base-level schedule optimization 3. Performance module - very easy to set up and run the entire performance management cycle. Opportunities - 1. Compensation planning is rolling up to a role and not a person in a role. 2. Merging of two reports to build a custom report 3. Data field directory/labeling to be able to pull/post through API accurately.

Ceridian Dayforce Review

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

we currently use Ceridian Dayforce across our organization. We’ve just implemented and have been using it since Jan 1st. Currently we are using it for our HR and payroll departments.

Pros

  • When the set-up is configured correctly, you can have many different earning rates and earning codes pay out through timesheets, oppose to manually entering them through the payroll QE. This allows for retros to be calculated automatically oppose to manually.
  • The system allows for many different entitlement policies to be set-up automatically annually oppose to having to create the new policies annually.
  • The system allows employees to make changes to their personal account and benefits directly, oppose to adding the admin work on the employer.

Cons

  • Reports - The report creating database is not super user friendly. The configuration of needing to find specific fields and the formulas is not user friendly.
  • Auditing accessibility. At times payroll election get added or dropped and there is no view on where the system took the information from. Would be nice to see some tracing, as we now have with timesheets and balances.

Likelihood to Recommend

Ceridian Dayforce is amazing, when implemented correctly and all rules and policies are set- up. However, support from my experience often pushed the client to fill out long questionnaires, without the client knowing exactly what it will affect, causing many errors during implementation. i feel they should spend more time explaining how each policy works and what it affects in the end. We spend so much time trying to correct most of what was implemented during the beginning since the full scope of what is needed and how it relates to other policies etc. is not shown.

Great Timekeeping and Payroll Solution

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Ceridian Dayforce for timekeeping and payroll within several of our business groups. Rolling this out as our new timekeeping solutions across the organization. Previously, each business group was utilizing their own timekeeping systems and this was being integrated to payroll. With everyone on the same system, this eliminates issues and streamlines our process.

Pros

  • ease of record keeping
  • employee usage is simple and straightforward
  • management of records and reporting

Cons

  • custom reporting

Likelihood to Recommend

great for employee ease of use. our team has really enjoyed how easily timekeeping and payroll processes have been under one system for the entire company,.
