Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's well-suited for teams looking to build fast, Framework is easy to build with Moca and using Java script. reliable, and comprehensive end-to-end tests for their web applications. We were able to use develop Automated Test to cater our weekly Regression Test that normally ends 40mins each QA in 4 different environments, but with Cypress.io it was down to 11-15 mins running all the tests in which huge saving of time.

Pros

Cypress automatically waits for DOM elements before interacting dev, this eliminates adding explicits waits in your code.
Has built-in recording and debugging tool.
Cypress has executions faster since you can update your code in the fly.
Very easy to configure / setup

Cons

Support Mobile Automation
Can Test in multiple browser.
Testing when browser opens multiple tabs and windows this doesnt work.
File upload not supported

Likelihood to Recommend

Were Cypress is now considered the highest on-demand tool for Test Automation expecially when testing with chrome browser, but cross-browser testing functionality isn't yet. Since this is considered new, I belived in the near future this would be catered as well, like the other tools that already sits in the Market. Hopefully mobile testing will be considered in the near future.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Testing of a web-based library, with multiple panes and buttons as well as context menus, similar to the windows file explores dynamic content provided from [an] MSSQL database through an API backend.

Pros

Running test directly after saving in the IDE.
Calling tests and browser through the IDE.
Async waiting for elements to appear.
Retrying tests for a certain time until they succeed or finally fail.
Very stable tests.
Finding elements very reliably.
Easy to learn.

Cons

Pick tool to identify elements doesn't work well.
Easier installation or manual for it.

Likelihood to Recommend

Everything web-based should be testable. Even our highly dynamic content-providing web application works well. Hopefully, it will get a bigger user base in the future so that one can find even more support at StackOverflow or similar forums.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using Cypress.io for end-to-end testing of our web applications. With Cypress.io, we can do both web UI and API testing. Recently, we are also doing visual regression tests with the help of plugins available in Cypress.io. We also use the Cypress.io dashboard for getting insight on the test passing and failing data.

Cons

There are a lot of plugins but several of them have many errors. So Cypress.io should work integrating more features so that people should not rely on these plugins. For example, many people use cypress-cucumber-preprocessor and Cypress.io can start by integrating Gherkin support by default so that reliance in plugins are decreased.

Likelihood to Recommend

Automating a test is very easy when you start with Cypress.io. It is extremely easy to set up and use. Also, debugging a failed test is hassle-free because of its time travel feature. We can do both web UI and API testing with Cypress.io and the only prerequisite is some knowledge in Javascript.
