Cylance Smart Antivirus is Smart for some but not for all
Rating: 5 out of 10
IncentivizedUse Cases and Deployment Scope
We used Cylance as our endpoint protection software (or antivirus). We replaced Sentinel 1 with Cylance when we switched our Managed Security Services Provider. We used it on all workstations and servers, and it did keep them secure. We relied heavily on our MSSP for implementation and configuration.
Pros
- Blocking Scripts
- Stopping remote exploits
- easy to install
Cons
- False Positives
- Difficult to troubleshoot
- Difficult to use
Likelihood to Recommend
Cylance Smart Antivirus is a decent solution for a consumer or private setting. I would have no hesitation recommending it to my mom or grandma. In a corporate setting though, with managed workstations, it gets in the way more than it secures. It will block Windows processes like error reporting.
