Conga CLM is primarily used by organizations to manage the entire contract lifecycle, from creation and negotiation to tracking and storage. Reviewers leverage it to automate and enhance efficiency in contract-related tasks, with 43% highlighting its use for comprehensive contract management. Key strengths include robust approval workflows, efficient template management for document generation, and streamlined contract creation, often integrated within the Salesforce ecosystem.

While simplifying contract lifecycle management through automation and self-service creation, some reviewers report rigidity in workflow processes and navigation. Challenges also arise with the user interface, which some find not intuitive, and limitations in reporting capabilities. Despite these areas for improvement, the platform generally delivers significant time savings and improved compliance, indicating a positive overall impact on business objectives.

  • Efficient Approval Workflow Management
  • Automated Contract Generation with Templates
  • Streamlined Document Creation and Redlining
  • Centralized Contract Storage and Tracking
  • Integration with Salesforce Ecosystem
  • Rigid Workflow and Process Navigation
  • Non-intuitive User Interface and Experience
  • Limited and Unreliable Reporting Capabilities
  • Tedious X-Author Component Functionality
  • Configuring and Managing Notifications

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the product for all healthcare contracting. That's the six buckets of contracting, of providers, business transactions, trade, JVs, third party vendors, research leases, and managed care. We use one contract lifecycle management system to manage all of our portfolios of contracts to not only manage our portfolio to make sure we don't lapse, but also to do our strategic betting as well as it's used to run the resource group, which is the supply chain and contracting arm for third party vendors. It's used to run our whole business case.

Pros

  • Tracking of compliance standards and audit standards.
  • The ability to have the workflow and utilize the workflow.

Cons

  • We're on Conga, we're on Novatus. It needs to be improved massively. They can't do anything to it. It's so old the way it was built. If you touch it, it's going to unravel. We need to move over to the CLM because whatever Conga Novatus, it can't support what we need. We're talking about through an RFX bit about what that future state will look like.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well the product that we're currently on is not well suited for parallel processes. It's more well suited for one process that governs rules are, especially for a big corporation like us that has to outsource through a technology department to do all the changes in the upkeep. It's a lot with that old system. I can't really say on the new system what we're going to be like because we haven't really done it yet, but I would not ever suggest my move to what we're at now because it's so outdated.

Conga Got me more time

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Teledyne uses Conga to process and store contracts for our contracts and subcontracts as a seller and a buyer company. It creates the contract using a template and even interfaces with Navex Risk Rate to help with the due diligence process of screening entities and for denied parties. It can also gather approvals and signatures. IT leads the user through the process of using templates and getting approvals to get to the DocuSign stage. Our company currently requires use of the application for every contract.

Pros

  • gather signatures
  • gather approvals
  • lead users through the process

Cons

  • being able to go back in the process if you mess up
  • more hints about what needs to be done at each stage
  • the responsabilities tab is currently duplicating users

Likelihood to Recommend

Conga allows users to process contracts from creation to recordkeeping.

Tracking and maintaining various levels of data throughout the contracting process

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As all of our sales and contracting processes are through the Salesforce system with Conga CLM we are able to manage and keep customer data easily and track many components that are needed for various levels of the company.

Pros

  • Tracking and maintaining various levels of data throughout the contracting process
  • Our ability to do more redlining through the contracting process within the system.
  • Allowing for controls in generating documents

Cons

  • Some of the decisions that are made when creating an agreement can cause some questions or confusion, such as how configurations "save"
  • A better way to allow for revisions that transition forward (as we have written our own revision process.)

Likelihood to Recommend

With having all of our contracting through the Salesforce system, the ability to allow our legal teams to do more with generating documents, have controls over redlines, etc is ideal. When sales needs to make additional revisions to the underlying data, however, it can be lacking in strong tools.

Conga CLM review in MedTech

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Conga CLM for contract workflow management, contract generation & negotiation, contract analytics. The main business problems CLM addresses is standardization across our organization. We have over 70k employees at BD, and we use Conga CLM for all of our Business Units to create a harmonized process and data repository for contracting.

Pros

  • Data Capture
  • Workflow Management

Cons

  • Change management with XAuthor for Word

Likelihood to Recommend

Conga CLM is well suited for large organizations who want to have a single repository and workflow for contract administration. It is suitable where there are standard workflows, or request processes, that are otherwise done manually. It is not suited for certain smaller use cases where the ROI would not be recognized against license costs.

Looking forward to Conga Contracts on the Advantage Platform

Rating: 5 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

repository, approval workflows, contract signing. Automates our templates, request process and provides visibility into where contracts are in the process.

Pros

  • contract requests by users, including attaching contract docs
  • automated contract workflows that can change based on type of contract, value of contract, etc.
  • eSignature integration with DocuSign. Docs are signed and uploaded automatically back to Conga.
  • Creation Templates are automated based on type of contract chosen. They automatically fill in information such as company names, dates and signatories.

Cons

  • AI functionality would be great to add to the Conga Contracts application.
  • more flexible workflows, where you can add a reviewer on the fly.
  • canned reporting - need to be created manually.

Likelihood to Recommend

Most functions work but things are slow and less automated than CLM on the platform. We are still waiting on all of the functionality to be added to the CSM Advantage platform as well as the AI, before we migrate.
