Conga CLM is utilized by Information industry firms to streamline the entire contract lifecycle, addressing critical business problems related to speed, compliance, and consistency in managing intellectual property licensing, content distribution, and vendor agreements. In TrustRadius reviews, the platform's robust capabilities in contract generation and drafting, essential for diverse templates and clause libraries, are frequently highlighted as key for rapidly customizing agreements while adhering to legal and operational standards.
Reviewers also note the system's effectiveness in managing approvals and redlining, contributing to faster content velocity and reduced legal exposure. However, some Information professionals, 2 of 7 reviewers, identified challenges with workflow automation, particularly concerning 'Conga Approvals,' which can impact the timely distribution and multi-stakeholder review of intellectual property. The ROI is often contingent on seamless integration with specialized information processing tools.

Following the Conga CLM update we have had a great support team and specialist (Micala) to assure our success post update. We still have a use case open for an extended time trying to resolve the ability to unlock agreements once checked into X-Author

We use Conga CLM to generate legal contracts for sell and buy side. This covers direct and indirect sales in addition to the procurement side of the house. It integrates with DocuSign and with other upstream tools such as CPQ. We also use it for template management and template maintenance.
Pros
Query Templates - Allowing to filter a single template
Integration with other Conga products
Merge Events
Cons
In my opinion, X-Author is a disaster! Unless you are very well versed at template maintenance, be sure to allocate full time resource for this.
Has room for clause based approvals improvement
Frequent upgrades lead to template corruption

It is one of the CLM tools in the market so if you are looking to optimize your contracting, it is an option. Conga professional services, once hired, are good to work with you on solutions needed for your success.
Approvals management is decent. Custom formulas in the form of records are great.
Conga CLM is used to maintain the agreement data in the Quote to Sign process. We use it in conjunction with the X-Author. There are quite a good amount of limitations that comes with it and because of being a managed package, there is little to very less control over the source code. My choice would be to evaluate other solutions before finalizing the purchase decision.
Pros
Loosely coupled with the SaaS product
Easily configurable
Regular Package Upgrades
Cons
Customised solutions as per the customer needs.
Could be faster in loading
Can be revamped to Lightning solution.

For Small Scale businesses, it is better suited.
Not a great choice for orgs with complex structure.
Conga CLM is used in our organization to create the end-to-end quote/proposal flow. Creating templates is very easy using the X-author for Word. We needed smart templates for our clients which this tool makes sure that they are as per the expectations with all the static along with dynamic data.
Pros
It provides an easy point and click approach for document assembly.
Easy to create wizards in Conga CLM which makes it interactive for the user.
End to end agreement flow can be achieved without much customization.
Cons
X-author for Word can be improved as it does not maintain a stable connection and the org gets disconnected frequently.
It does not support grandparent relationship for merge field population.
A separate package needs to be installed for the integration of CPQ and CLM tools from Conga.
Likelihood to Recommend
This tool is well suited for organizations who don't want much customization as most of the things work out of the box, which increases productivity, whereas there are a lot of product-related issues which need constant connection with the Conga support team, thus resulting in more time to deliver the requirements.
