What is Coinbase?

Coinbase is a digital currency exchange (Coinbase Pro) and crypto-oriented software solution suite for businesses, including hosted checkout pages, payment buttons, invoicing, and multiple ecommerce integrations (Coinbase Commerce), a turnkey solution for brokerages, exchanges, and fintechs enabling them to offer customers crypto (Coinbase Prime), crypto asset custody (Coinbase Custody), and a wallet to self-store crypto (Coinbase Wallet).

Categories & Use Cases

Coinbase is great for all levels of crypto enthusiasts.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I personally don't use the Coinbase modules for any of my organizational/business needs (I actually don't think anyone does). I use Coinbase for personal crypto trading, investment, and staking purposes. Sometimes I also use the Coinbase modules to send and receive crypto from and to businesses and or my friends.

Pros

  • Coinbase has a really nice looking design which offers for a better user experience.
  • Coinbase is extremely easy to use.
  • Coinbase does a great job delivering company news/changes to its users.
  • Coinbase offers frequent updates which makes you feel more secure using their services.

Cons

  • Sometimes the frequent updates also come with a change in layout which usually makes it harder to adjust.
  • Wish the normal version also offered auto-purchases (available in PRO).
  • A larger and more centralized crypto news + advice would be nice to have.

Most Important Features

  • Crypto Trading, Investing, Staking.
  • Crypto news and updates.
  • Semi-secure crypto storing.

Return on Investment

  • Crypto has always been a gamble. Right now we are in a recession but I believe long-term using Coinbase will yield at least 5x in returns.
  • As mentioned - crypto is a gamble. You can easily also lose all of your investments if crypto turns out to be a scam.
  • As a business getting paid in crypto can be a great move if you are willing to take that risk and sit on it for a few years. Coinbase makes those payments easy.
