Our firm is delivering more digital content, compared to the prepandemic period, and none of us on the team received any formal training in information technology or coding. Codecademy from Skillsoft provides the resources for us to learn or improve skills necessary in a digital world - these resources are relevant, easily accessible, and effective.
Pros
- The content is relevant to our projects, and therefore adds value to our goals.
- The content is delivered in a way that is conducive to adult learning, e.g., chunked into bite-size amounts (not overwhelming), uses language that is easy to understand (no technical jargon), a good mix of didactic content and quizzes (the latter adds an element of interaction).
- The user interface is logical and user-friendly.
- Codecademy from Skillsoft makes it easy to track your progress, not only within a course, but also relative to your weekly target.
Cons
- I would like to see more video content, including introductory videos (the latter tend to make the lessons feel more personal). Some people may learn better with videos, compared to text and images only.
- Recommended reading lists may be helpful to those who want to gain a deeper understanding of the topics.
