Deployment of wireless access for public, IoT, AV rooms and secured employee access from any of our 200+ locations within the county. Central management of the wireless network was critical to the deployment and Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points has been integrated into other Cisco products to enhance the security and deployment of the wireless.
Pros
Cloud management has improved beyond other solutions
Easy deployment and configurations
Available tools to assist user and technicians in troubleshooting
Cons
Introduction of AI into the dashboard
More insight into the AP OS for troubleshooting
Additional network ports for management dedicated connection
Likelihood to Recommend
The ability to provide cable installers with the APs to install with no need to configure as allowed us to offload the installation process to contractors with the AP configured upon connecting to the network. In addition, the ability to add security and bandwidth controls quickly to select APs or the entire network.
The Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points are deployed in six our our school campuses. It provides efficient wireless connectivity across our six campuses that services students, staff and guests. Having 6 geographically diverse locations and a central management IT team, it is important for us to have reliable wireless equipment on campuses.
Pros
Ease of connectivity
Application of secure connectivity
Integration with Microsoft AD for authentication
Cons
It can expand its radio range in terms of distance reach
It can improve it's design as it looks like a plain flat brick
I would like to see more integration with security
Better solution in segmenting and authentication like clearpass
Likelihood to Recommend
The Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points is a good solution although not for everyone. Cost wise it is more expensive than competition. Technically speaking, if you are going for a full Cisco Meraki solution from firewall, switches, WAP, and management app, it requires a solid technical understanding of where each part and piece falls. If you have the money and the technical capabilities (in house or outsourced) then it is a solid platform that leans on Cisco's respectable history in the communications and infrastructure industry.

We have been deploying Meraki MR Wireless Access Points in many of our customers. Most of them return to us to repurchase other Meraki products after we provide them with the best wireless solution they could ask for. Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points offers everything an IT team could need, from industry-leading cloud management to powerful features that enhance business operations and improve the user experience, including guest access when required.
Pros
cloud management who is very beneficial for the IT team
Data analysis and insights gathered from each AP
Enhanced security features
Providing WIFI 6E and now 7
Cons
I wouldn’t necessarily say Meraki needs improvement, but adjusting the licensing model for distributors could be beneficial. In some regions, distributors are unable to purchase a standalone one-year Meraki license, as invoices are bundled with larger amounts. From a technical standpoint, however, Meraki access points remain among the best in the industry.

We have deployed numerous Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Point solutions, but one of the most remarkable success stories comes from a few shopping centers we worked on in our country. The feedback was outstanding. Users enjoyed the secure and seamless connectivity. Additionally, the access points provided location-based insights highlighting high-traffic areas(the hot spots of the area). This feature is great for businesses, helping them identify prime spots for rentals and marketing within the building.
I have recommended Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points to the customers a lot due to the fact that it is easy to use and manage, price is competitive.
