It's instant, simple to use and easy to disseminate around the entire newsroom. It links easily to our live site. The downside of Chartbeat for us is the lack of detailed report creation. For this we still require an additional programme like Adobe or Domo. This is required for more detail on user behaviour, onward journey etc

Is very helpful for sites with a decent amount of content. It's less useful for our smaller publication. I also don't know if I could enable it on our app - I've never asked about that. We don't have good visibility for user journey between our multiple digital channels. Chartbeat's competitor Marfeel touts some SEO features that would be nice to have - things like keyword suggestions or keyword trends could help the newsroom develop content suited to those suggestions. I don't see our newsroom doing that however. We would be better served by doing more content optimization of what we currently write about and make use of the headline tester more. The problem is that reporters don't have time to use these tools and we only have two digital team members who would potentially use it at this time.
We are an O&O (owned-and-operated) collection of several online brands with separate content staff and goals for each pub. It's crucial for us to manage this in one place in order to grow our readership.

Best suited for people who were using GA (Google Analytics) for basic site reporting. With UA4 (universal analytics) GA is extremely difficult to use for basic site reporting. Things as simple as merely seeing which pages are doing best has become very problematic with GA, but is is extremely easy with Chartbeat. For extremely complicated analysis it may not provide as much detail, but to keep the content creators of your site aware of what is happening, Chartbeat is the way to go.
Chartbeat enables the newsroom to be data-driven, from curating the homepage and recirculating articles to social media, to making key decisions with real-time data at their fingertips. The integration of Google Discover information in real time allows us to understand what type of content works best and what is in high demand by our audience at the moment.

Some teams also use Chartbeat for performance data but we rely on Adobe Analytics for performance information leading to questions about which is "right."

Chartbeat -- as advertised -- is the best in class tool to manage real-time website performance. The tool is extremely helpful to benchmark performance and to move beyond vanity metrics like clicks by also tracking engaged time.
The only downside for us is actually an upside for Chartbeat -- because the tool is so easy to use and understand our journalists prefer it over other performance tracking tools. Chartbeat has some information on performance but much more extensive information can be found in other tools. We also work more to track the accuracy of the metrics in other tools.
