What is busybusy?

busybusy is a mobile time tracking and job costing software solution designed for businesses with employees working in remote locations, especially the construction industry. This GPS-based application accurately tracks field hours, leading to reduced payroll time by up to 67%. Employees can easily clock in and out of projects or locations remotely using the mobile app's simple interface. In addition, they can take photos on-site to document project progress or attach evidence receipts.

The platform offers various features that enable users to track employee hours, breaks, vacations, days off and more. The real-time GPS location tracking feature allows employers to monitor employee activity as well as heavy equipment locations from any device at any time. Reports generated by busybusy are comprehensive and provide valuable insights into labor hour costs, productivity expenses related to specific jobs or projects over customizable periods.

Additionally, VisionLink integration is available which enables users to identify equipment availability status through monitoring remaining fuel levels, total usage, employees using the equipment amongst other analytics thus further improving workplace efficiency. Overall it's an all-encompassing tool that aims at streamlining operations for construction companies while also reducing staff-related costs due to its accurate data collection features.

great for high volume companies with low tech employees!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Heavy highway construction jobs in the state of Kansas almost always have state and/or federal funding. Because of this, any employee on the job must be accounted for by a labor classification and time on the job. My company uses BusyBusy not just to track overall time, but what jobs they are on, what labor classification they are working under, what truck/equipment is taken. The certified payroll process of our company was a huge factor when decided on an electronic time card app - BusyBusy was the best option for this!

Pros

  • Individual responsibility for time cards
  • easy review of all time through projects or groups of people
  • breadcrumb tracking of employees

Cons

  • the scheduling feature has room for improvement - the views are not condensed and cannot be viewed by all employee groups
  • during the time card review process - instead of a description - it would be nice to have a reason section when changing a time card
  • the geo fences around projects - I wish they could be linear

Most Important Features

  • multiple job locations
  • cost code implementation
  • integration with accounting software

Return on Investment

  • positive - more individual responsibility for time reporting
  • greater grasp on project/time location
  • faster payroll review
