BrowserStack allows us to affordably test the functionality of our website and third-party applications on multiple browsers. By testing our application on different browsers, this helps us overcome issues caused by inconsistencies in how browsers interpret code. It ensures that layouts and designs render correctly across platforms, and that CSS and JavaScript features work reliably without breaking.
Pros
The access to thousands of real desktop & mobile browser/device combinations is very useful. This allows us to test on actual hardware rather than just emulators.
Automated testing. This allows us to test at scale, in parallel, across many devices, making integration with CI/CD pipelines feasible.
The ability to test local, staging or private environments behind firewalls is brilliant.
Cons
Performance / Speed Issues: Sometimes we experience slow load times when connecting to devices.
Lag during live sessions or automation, and delays with certain browsers/devices.
Many feel plans are expensive, especially for individual developers or small teams. Some advanced features are only accessible in higher-tier plans.
Likelihood to Recommend
Honestly, I haven't come across another system that allows us to test as extensively as BrowserStack. I would recommend.
