Brightmine has been a great resource for staying current on HR compliance areas in real time. It has been fantastic to have this data at my fingertips when working with a multi-state population. As my on demand as issues have increased, Brightmine has been invaluable to-go for quick data to make informed decisions.

When troubleshooting and needing state specific compliance, I have been able to quickly access and validate data to make informed decisions. For example, when working with a multi-state population of employees, I have repeatedly used Brightmine to review state specific laws at employment separations. When working on employee handbook updates, I have been able to utilize Brightmine to review current policy requirements as well as use as a starting point for drafting policy updates. It has been a very great tool - very turnkey.

We most frequently use Brightmine for lots of letter and policy templates, which are incredibly useful and helpful in getting you started and contain lots of relevant information. We also use some of the interactive flow charts and for information relating to trending topics. The webinars are also really useful and interesting to attend.

Brightmine has been so helpful in supporting us to update and introduce new policies, as we are able to use their templates as a base for our own policies which saves so much time writing them from scratch. Some of the language in the templates can be slightly direct and harsh and has less of a welfare feel to it, but it is clear and concise and easy to adapt the tone.

We are currently subscribed to the HR & Compliance Center which offers support and resources, expertise and guidance to revolutionize our HR processes and people strategy. Our HR team regularly uses Brightmine's comprehensive state charts and informational webinars to stay on top of the latest additions and updates in the compliance space.

Compliance has been the primary focus for our team's use of the Brightmine platform. There is not a platform that I am aware of within the Brightmine site that allows for HR professionals to ask questions and/or discuss their questions/concerns with feedback from either industry experts or other HR professionals so I will reference SHRM for those matters.

We use Brightmine for all of the legal resources and information it provides on its main platform. I receive email updates to law and regulatory changes which are very helpful and I have employees in 30 states and I cannot keep track of all of that on my own. I rely on Brightmine for that information. We also use Brightmine for creation and updating of our employee handbook. Again, it helps us keep abreast of changes in the law that affect the content within our handbook.

It is an invaluable tool if you don't have in house counsel and you don't want to always be contacting outside counsel for information. The resources in the platform cannot be found anywhere else. You don't get this level of content from SHRM, and I feel confident with the information because I know it is a legal entity that runs the platform, not an association.

We do not have legal on our staff. It is great to run things by an expert to ensure we are following the correct steps when it comes to an involuntary termination or a tricky situation that may involve some compliance.

The HR & Compliance Center and Automated Handbook Management subscriptions have been incredibly helpful in keeping us compliant. We are a small department and have employees in 15 different states so staying on top of individual state laws with regard to things like paid leave, etc. can be very daunting. Brightmine has helped alleviate some of that.

It was tough to get management on board with paying for these tools and resources, but the bottom line is compliance is everything. Sure we can get the information through various other sources and scouring the web, but Brightmine puts it all at your fingertips...and when you're running from fire to fire in a small HR department, there's no time to waste!

I use Brightmine to keep me up to date on payroll and absence related legislative updates. I really like the feature that you can subscribe to things that interest you so that you're not constantly having to weed through information, and yet, you still have the ability to access that information whenever you need to, as opposed to paying a separate fee for various areas of interest.

It's obviously well optimal for getting the black and white facts on legislative pay and time updates. I have not used it much for other areas so unsure where it may be less optimal.

We use Brightmine for generic HR advice, templates and letters that we may not already have in the business or when it comes to new legislation we may draw upon Brightmine for new policy wording and templates. We also have the legal services add on which can come in handy for none complex queries, however for complex issues i do not find the legal helpline helpful.

Perfect for building up your letter templates and building policies- really helpful and comprehensive particularly if you are a self starter or small business.

However, i wouldn't recommend for legal advice, as previously said i have found this to be vague, wooly and not overly helpful and i am a somewhat experienced HR professional so for anyone outside of HR would struggle to get the clarity they need

Brightmine is used for pay equity analysis and compensation planning. The pay equity analytics help identify and address gender pay gap drivers, while the compensation planning feature is less effective, as the output data does not align with current market trends. All in all the scope is pretty narrow at the moment

I think Brightmine is suitable for basic gender pay gap reporting but lacks flexibility in output visualisations. For gender pay gap analysis, I wanted the ability to use a variety of charts and apply filters that covered all categories while displaying only those of interest.

I use Brightmine to stay up to date on the numerous employment laws in effect at the federal level and across the U.S. The product not only gives me one place to go to review employment regs, but it also explains them and helps me to have a better understanding without the time required for research using multiple sources. I also find value in the drafted policies, letters, and forms. As a consultant, this product reduces my worktime, and allows me to be more efficient.

Brightmine is a great product to help you stay up-to-date on employment laws. I frequently use the Legal Timetable and the Employment Law Guide. I have also found valuable use of letter/form templates and trainings. As a consultant, it is important that I have access to relevant information when I need it, and although I use various sources, I have found Brightmine to be the most comprehensive, and knowing that it is maintained by labor attorneys gives me confidence in the information on the site.
