Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box is being used in my current & previously worked organizations as document management platform, for sharing the technical deliverables to the client by safe and secure medium. This basically businesses to share the documents in any format and by assigning the document approval work flow. So we use this platform to share documents (deliverables) to the client, with safety, speed, approval work flow and also get the notifications for the same.

I work as a Content Manager in Higher Education. We exclusively use Box to upload and share photos, videos, graphics, and any other pertinent content for the College. This cloud-based solution allows us to share large files with minimal effort to a centralized location. Upon uploading, my team has full visibility into the uploaded content.

Pros

Box has a phenomenal storage limit and houses 80% of our total content in the cloud
Box has a strong search feature that allows for ease of use when attempting to locate content
Box is compatible across Mac devices (iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc.) and offers a seamless transition for me when switching devices

Cons

Box's UI/UX leaves a lot to be desired. In comparison to platforms like Google Drive, Box is much less user-friendly and certain functions (such as renaming a folder) feels cumbersome.
Uploading times on Box are slow. Box also lacks a progress bar that articulates in minutes how long the uploading process will take, therefore, it feels as if you are waiting FOREVER for large files to upload.
The "share link" features are limited and doesn't allow people with the link to upload content to the folder.

Return on Investment

Through Box, I am able to receive photo/video content from a 40-person team. This keeps us efficient and transparent as everyone on the team has access to the files.
Box houses 80% of our finalized content. With Box, we are saving thousands of dollars on external hard drives.

Box is our primary cloud based data storage platform. It is the source of truth for our business data. We word directly from Box and collaborate on documents, utilising the built in communication tools.

Prior to utilising Box, we ran our own data server which was expensive to maintain, lacked collaboration features, was difficult to access remotely, and was less secure than Box.

Box is yet another entry into the cloud storage and sharing space for me. I have used it extensively for file sharing thanks to its simple interface and standalone apps. Media files, PDF documents, and other files have been a breeze to share within Box, and I appreciate the flexibility.

Mainly used to store larger files that I need for work and to collaborate with co-workers.
All of my main work files are stored in Box, so I can access it from any computer if necessary.
I also make and edit project-level files as needed, as well as reports and other relevant files.
