Managing a Charitable Event with Network for the Good.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

A central contact point for running a fundraising event. Advertising, communication, ticket sales, donor and sponsor promotion, and online auctions. In my case, I was running a county-wide fundraising event with only a few other volunteers to assist. So using the Network for the Good website as a single point of contact for fundraisers, sponsors, and donors saved time and effort. No need for additional paperwork or administrative functions. We used the ticket sales feature at the event to acknowledge donations and admissions paid for in advance. After the event completed we networked back to all our donors and sponsors o thank them for their generosity and save a list of contacts for use in other campaigns.

Pros

  • Ease of Website setup.
  • Financial management.
  • Running an auction.
  • Communication.

Cons

  • Reporting stats and donor info.
  • Integration with social channels.
  • Close out reporting.

Return on Investment

  • Minimized the resources necessary to run an online presence. For instance, one moderately tech-savvy person can handle it.
  • Provides a pathway to increase the number of events the organization can manage.
  • By being part of a larger group of non-profits that utilize Network For The Good, we receive additional assistance and ideas from related organizations.

Great product at a great price

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Bonterra Guided Fundraising's Network For Good gift management platform to track all of our giving, maintain current contact information, and guide our acknowledgements. Currently, the Development Office is the only office using the software, but we anticipate expanding to the Marketing and Sales team too.

Pros

  • Great Customer Service
  • Trustworthy Data
  • Easy Navigation
  • High Quality Product, particularly well set to serve small organizations
  • Easy to access for all staff members

Cons

  • I would like a voicemail feature for mass communication
  • While I use the acknowledgement tracking in the gift entries, I currently create all of my own acknowledgement letters outside the system because the in-system option seems complicated, or I just haven't received enough training yet

Return on Investment

  • Trustworthy Data
  • Easy digital communication tools

Bonterra Network for Good is great

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bonterra Network for Good allowed our organization to compile all of our users into one database and segment them in various ways. This helps us customize our communications to different segment groups based on user behavior like donations, email opens and clicks, event attendance, etc. We now have customizable data on all our donors and donor prospects in one place.

Pros

  • Segments contacts based on different data sets
  • Allows contacts to buy ticket to events and donate at the same time
  • Easy to create new fundraising campaigns

Cons

  • Importing contacts is a chore that could be simplified
  • You need a separate login to export donation data
  • It's not clear how to add Venmo or Apple pay to donation page

Return on Investment

  • It has helped reengage lapsed donors
  • It has helped raise more donations ahead of our events
  • It makes it easy to see which campaigns have the most impact.
