I felt during the selling process we were oversold on what BigTime Software can do for our company once we started using it we had to create most of the needs ourselves within the system

Our Architecture firm of around 10 is currently using BigTime Software to manage project time frames and budgets, enter/submit timecards, and generate and send invoices. We are also able to receive payments using BigTime Wallet directly to the software. The BigTime Software platform has allowed us to keep everything project related all in one place and be able to pull data/reports that can and look at project budgets, project time frames, staff utilization, estimates, remaining, and projections of hours and fees of contracted work. Using BigTime Software has allowed staff and Project Managers alike to have a better view of hours remaining on a task and be able to manage projects more proactively, which helps with efficiency and client relationships. We have found the BigTime Software interface to be user friendly and clean. Although the software platform is very capable of all our needs, it does not feel overwhelming or cluttered. We are using the lower to mid-level tier of options and for our needs it has been working really well.
Pros
Thorough and clean setup of each project/client - they have almost everything you need at your fingertips to manage data for each project/client.
The Financials Tab - this is a quick overview of all the time/expense for each project and provides easy access if/when I need to move incorrectly logged time from a staffer.
Time Entry - simple and easy to use. My staff are able to log time on their schedule which could mean on the fly throughout the day, end of each day, end of the week, end of the pay period. It saves previously entered Project/Tasks and all you have to do is enter hours. This saves time and is a feature our owner loves.
BigTime Software Live Chat is a wonderful resource that I utilize regularly.
Overall company friendliness and willingness to help and improve. BigTime Software is excellent in this area, their company culture seems to promote involvement from all levels and all areas and is always looking for ways to improve.
Cons
More customization in invoice formatting (that I have control over)
Reports - I definitely prefer the old layout view, but they are not as easy to use as I'd like
The categories are not always clear to understand, what is what and/or how they are calculated can create extra work in excel post processing
Printing to paper w/out having to export a PDF first
Printing options in general (formatting, date ranges, details, etc.)
This area is incredibly lacking in options

I'd like to start by saying, I rarely give 10's on anything, almost always 9's, the main reason for my 10 rating is the support I've received from this team/company. BigTime Software has been well suited for our company b/c it's giving a window into the project budget and time frames to our Project Managers to proactively manage their projects and look for areas to improve and celebrate with support staff. I would say efficiency in time management. BigTime Software is not an accounting software and I love that about it. We were looking for a tool for staff to manage their projects and stay on budget and track time and generate invoices all in one place and we've found that with BigTime Software.
Our firm uses BigTime Software to track time and invoice clients. It integrates with our accounting system; however, it is not without kinks that require manual edits.
Pros
Multiple time trackers with the ability to pause
Customizable invoices
LEDES Invoicing
Cons
LEDES Invoicing
Accounting System syncs especially as it relates to expenses
Rate Updates should be programmable to coordinate with launch dates
Likelihood to Recommend
Recommendation would be based on company size and if the company has someone willing to undertake the initial configuration. An internal team member for our firm was able to spearhead the project and make adjustments. There are still manual updates that need to be keyed for each LEDES invoice created; this is time consuming and would be a huge stumbling block if we created hundreds each month. When rates need to be updated, the system requires an across the board update for each client instead of recognizing the dates that require the rate update. With that said, the a/r aging dash board is beautifully set up and inputting payments is very easy.
It's our timekeeping system. We track billable hours for employees against contracts, which are then used for billing clients. We also track non-billable hours such as holiday, PTO (Paid Time Off), etc.
Pros
Tracks hours by labor category and project
Can customize reports
Cons
I find it hard to customize some reports, but more technical staff can do so more easily than I do.
Likelihood to Recommend
I had good technical help from Sierra T., who was able to figure out an issue we had with some hours not showing on all reports for an employee.

We use BigTime for time and entry, using tasks and work codes assigned to a staff member. We also utilize the budget section as well as the Quick Books and tax software integration system.
Pros
QuickBooks integration.
Tax software integration.
Budget section.
Cons
Allow for a date range in allocation screen being we have tasks yearly as opposed to a one time deal.
A two year comparison report.

In the beginning we felt the software was not suited for an accounting firm. It seemed it was more geared towards a company that only has a few projects yearly. However, the company worked diligently with us to get the product to work how we needed it to. We are still working out some kinks but are happy with the results so far.
We use BigTime Software as a practice management software in my firm. We use it for time tracking, engagement management, client information tracking, and billing. When I started researching practice management software, I was looking for software that synced with Quickbooks desktop that would track time and projects and manage clients. This software was one of the only ones that filled all my criteria.
Pros
time tracking
engagement management
ease of use
sync with quickbooks
Cons
syncing with quickbooks
adding time to invoices
client information management
Likelihood to Recommend
For the price and it's capabilities, it is the best practice management software out there. I tested quite a few before I purchased this one. Lots of software syncs with quickbooks online, but very few sync with quickbooks desktop and that makes this one unique. My firm is a full service accounting firm and we manage over 1,000 personal tax projects and hundreds of bookkeeping and accounting engagements and BigTime does this well. It's client information management could be better and ability to produce reports could use improvement. Also when syncing, sometimes transactions are doubled and it is difficult to remove the second transaction.
We use BigTime Software firm-wide primarily for time tracking, invoicing, reporting, and some higher-level project management. It also assists us by providing information for payroll. Previously, we used a modular system that was not cohesive. BigTime Software provides us a solution all under one roof and creates easy pathways for us to invoice our clientele.
Pros
Specific project-based time tracking
Invoicing based on detailed time entries that assimilate into personalized template invoices
The in-product customer service chat is extremely helpful and the representatives are knowledgable
Cons
The project management side of the software is really clunky
Certain batch changes to the clients and/or projects are not available
When changing staffer rates, the unbilled time and expenses can fluctuate if you're not careful
Likelihood to Recommend
BigTime Software provides a plethora of client types, project statuses, task types, and task groupings in order to specifically and accurately track your time. With this array of information, filtering and isolating the correct information is attainable for detailed segmented work specifically in invoicing. The problem is that arranging and getting everything correct typed and statuses set can be cumbersome.
We use [BigTime Software] to track profitability across our firm and the employees all input their time, and expenses into the system. This program is a seamless transition from Big Time [Software] to Quick books and helps make payroll so much easier. I can also post invoices and expenses over to QB.
Pros
Job Costing
Payroll
Invoicing
Cons
Live chat is sometimes hit or miss
Reports are not clearly generated
If you have to many columns it will cause a delay on the job list

BigTime Software is great for working with other accounting systems like Quick books. the two accounting systems communicate well together.
Our entire organization moved to the Bigtime Platform for our Billing and Project Management. It is by far a more flexible program than the one that was in place for more than 15+ years.
Pros
Invoice Style and detail..Bigtime allows the user the ability to choose more of what you need to appear on your invoice with its window options.
Phase/Percentage Billing; ease of adding additional phases to a project mid-project; clearly identifying Retainers
Support Team- In particular Melissa D and Lina Z...Par Excellent on the Teams
WHIP/Reports/Review of Invoices just make the entire billing process a BREEZE has cut my time frame in half, a Incredible help in this Season of Remote Work Environment that we are adapting to.
Cons
Logo Pixels
Chat hours

My Experience is that BigTime might actually be the ONLY billing solution I have worked with that would ACTUALLY be compatible across any industry. If it can be flexible enough to fit the parameters of Designers/Project managers parameters such as ours, the other industries should be a breeze!
