What is Big Biller?

Big Biller is a cloud-based ATS developed by Top Echelon Networking, Inc in Canton, Ohio.This product offers an adequate suite of features typical of applicant tracking systems: a user-friendly interface and mobile integration, batch or mass communication with potential candidates via multiple channels such as email or by leveraging its integration with social networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn), a workflow pipeline, posting to multiple job boards and a customizable career page via integration with the Hiring Hook website design service, resume and email parsing. Big Biller is touted as a low cost product for smaller companies; its cost therefore is unsurprisingly quite low compared to other ATS platforms. Transitioning and implementation is supported via webinars, some available online 24/7 and others live on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as one-on-one training sessions with support staff. A 30-day free trial is available.

I own a pharmacy recruitment firm and I use Big Biller daily for all of my daily recruitment and sales activities. I keep all candidate and client information in Big Biller and use it to track all activities.

Big Biller is my ATS and my CRM - that means I use it to manage candidates but also for business development.

Pros

  • Organizes candidate data.
  • Parses resumes.
  • Helps me manage business development.

Cons

  • It would be nice if it worked with Outlook - it does work with outlook.com but if I want to use my own domain name, Outlook doesn't allow
  • I have suggested improvements and often, they have updated software to include.

Return on Investment

  • I can access from anywhere allowing me to travel without having to bring along paper files.
  • Using BB has improved my candidate management helping to stay on top of interviews and follow ups.
  • Business development has improved since I only have to use one system instead of an ATS, separate CRM and email management tool.

I use Big Biller for a variety of things. To organize my search efforts, to advertise my job orders on the Internet as well as to my trading partners on the Top Echelon network. I also use it to connect with my TE Colleagues whenever I get a new search in an area of expertise or geographic territory I haven't worked in before.

Pros

  • Connect with other independent recruiters
  • Organize a search
  • Tracking candidate applications

Cons

  • I'd make sure that when trading partners re-post TE colleagues' jobs that the compensation information isn't removed.
  • Make it easier to report the placement of a colleague's applicant, who was never on Big Biller and/or was associated with a job order on Big Biller. A General Placement Reporting form. If it already exists, make it easier to find.
  • Don't know if it's possible, but find a way to stop candidates from applying for the same job over and over and over again. I've had one candidate in particular, who keeps applying for my job via every other recruiter, who has reposted my Job Order. He is overseas and he has bombarded me with his applications for my job. I can't consider him, and I've even emailed him to stop, but he is still applying for the job. I'm beginning to think he isn't real and that his applications are actually a kind of algorithm from some kind of phishing or hacking effort.

We have been using Big Biller since we started the company. The platform has supported our growth. The system is very intuitive and the developers continue to enhance the functionality with updates. The pricing is competitive and the tech support is helpful when you need them, which is rare. Overall it's an easy-to-use ATS and CRM focused on the needs of recruiting firms. It does what we need it to do without too much complexity.

Great product and superb customer service

  • A few too many clicks for recording activities.
  • Bulk data manipulation is nearly impossible. Big Biller must do it at an extra cost.
