As an MSP we have been using Barracuda Email Protection for ourselves and many clients for over 4 years. Support Team has always been quick whenever needed. They had help us configuring email security while migrating email system from on premises to cloud or vice versa. It blocks most phishing and junk emails effectively. Encryption, bulk detection and content policies are super helpful. We occassionally see a few spam emails still slip through, which is why I’m giving it a 9 instead of a 10. Its not major issue but it’s something we hope improves in future. Regardless we consistently recommend Barracuda Email Protection to all of our MSP clients.
Pros

[...] - Message was blocked due to Spam (Machine learning)
Cons

[...] - it inlcudes phishing for Paypal
[...] phgishing email

When we originally signed up for M365, their built-in DLP was bad and rarely caught critical items that needed protection. We needed a better solution and started looking around, and the Barracuda Email Security platform was cheap and did a good job. For us it now does spam filtering, business email continuity, DLP, malware/virus filtering, and URL-review to make sure phishing emails don't get through.
Pros
Great job on URL-filtering, it reviews every link sent in an email and rewrites it to open in a sandbox first if clicked on.
It's cost-effective and doesn't break the bank
Cons
Their DLP is a bit inflexible and cannot handle custom additions. You either turn on the 'group' of regulations you want to protect against (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, credit cards, etc.) and take the defaults, or you don't. Nothing outside of that.
They increased the price about 2 years ago.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would definitely recommend it due to the decent pricing. I wish the MS built-in M365 tools were better, but Barracuda does a good job of taking their place. For industries that need DLP on their email, like healthcare, banking, and education, Barracuda provides a reliable product for a good cost. The additional services you get, malware/AV filtering, URL filtering, spam protection, business continuity, those are all icing on the cake. The only issues we've ever really had with them is that it will sometimes take a back/forth string of emails and decide randomly to encrypt it, so what was a flowing benign conversation is now locked behind a wall for recipients. As the sender, you have no idea when it's going to decide to do this and have to remember to tag emails with a decrypt tag long before it happens or face the consequences.

With Barracuda Security Awareness Training, we can easily show the security risks that a simple untrained employee can be. From sending cheeky emails to dropping a random USB stick on a desk.

We regularly send out Phishline campaigns to our users to gauge engagement and then implement training sessions with our users. It's a great way to see if the security training and awareness you are providing your users are paying dividends.
Pros
Great library of examples.
Great library of training materials.
Very powerful and customizable.
Superb way of providing stats and details on our campaigns.
Cons
Make the interface less confusing. It's almost too powerful which leads to confusion.
We use this to help train our users about phishing and other forms of email attacks, as well as the general risks of cybercrime. This helps to strengthen the last line of defense - the human behind the keyboard. The tool also allows us to test our endpoint protection products using the collection of file-based attacks.
Pros
USB key attack testing
Training and reporting
SMS attack testing
Cons
The interface is very dated and cumbersome
Setup was not as simple as it should have been
Some of the training that is supplied has a thick American accent which puts users off
Likelihood to Recommend
It's great for those without any security training tools, particularly small businesses or those without in-house security teams. However, for those large customers, they will probably do it in-house within their dedicated teams, so it can be more tailored to the organization. Microsoft 365 Defender users will probably not need it either, as Microsofts in-build tools have really come along, and have a much better interface.
I use the product to help our employees to distinguish a fake email from a real email. We receive lots of phishing emails, for example, from banks, and from the government. Sometimes our users are prone to click on a false link, and lots of possible "wrong" things can happen. We, of course, have endpoint protection but training the "human" firewall is always the better option.
Pros
The software helps us create emails that look exactly or almost exactly the same as the phishing emails we found in our email gateway.
We already use the ESS gateway from Barracuda Networks, and in the TEP bundle, this software is included, so it's not that much work to also configure this.
In the software, we can see reports on how our users performed. We can make a selection of users that are more prone to click on "false" links, and this way, we can help them individually.
Cons
The software is rather difficult to work with. Lots of options are a little bit "hidden" and are difficult to find.
Lots of URLs are blacklisted sometimes. We are kept in the loop but changing to other URLs that are not blacklisted is very resource-intensive.
I feel that the architecture of the software is a little bit old.

Full-featured and ready-to-use platform to start sending out training phishing mails.
