Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Backupify to back up our Google and our Microsoft domains accounts for our staff. We do not back up our student accounts. This allows us to grab data that has been deleted or lost from all areas include Drive, Calendar, Email, and Contacts. It has been a great solution for disaster recovery and for malice deletion.

Pros

  • Back up Google
  • Back Up Microsoft
  • Easy recovery of data

Cons

  • The back ups from Drive don’t restore in their original folder hierarchy
  • The interface could be a bit cleaner

  • Very easy disaster recovery tool that requires no regular maintenance

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Datto Backupify is used to back up our Gmail and Google Docs in the GSuite. The backup is used for disaster recovery and data recovery.

Pros

  • Backups up documents
  • Backups up gmails

Cons

  • When backups fail there is no notification
  • When changes are made to the platform, there is limited information
  • Support is on the whole, terrible.

  • The time we have spent on support and understanding recent changes where functionality has been removed has had a decidedly negative impact on the organisation.
