We use the StorSimple appliance onsite here at GF Corp to provide onsite storage for our MSFT Hyper-V virtual servers. The StorSimple device then writes back to our private cloud in Azure. This device addressed our immediate storage needs, while allowing us to grow from an achieve standpoint via the Azure cloud.
Pros
- Performance via the SSD drives.
- Writes back to our Private Cloud via Azure.
- Easy to Admin via Web client interface.
Cons
- Additional fail-over functionality
