We use Avanan as an additional layer of security for our business email. It blocks suspicious emails that Microsoft may have allowed through. Prior to Avanan, we had quite a bit of impersonation emails coming through to users' email boxes, and this has been reduced by 99%—occasionally, an email will still get through, but it is very rare.

We use it for our email security and to take control of our spam. We get a lot of cold emails and it would be overwhelming sometimes to go through what is actually legit. Now, we know what’s coming in that is worth continuing h with rather than going through all of it.

Since we had a small BU with different domains, those working remotely with Covid in place and teams using various collaboration tools from different locations were a significant threat to us and the organization within. We thought of hosting these new emails on Avanan as it was helping us to stop threats even before they could hit the inboxes of these users. This turned out to be a great solution for us and the team. Also, the team is satisfied. The API-based ecosystem is robust and is backed by strong checkpoints within the security domain.

Regularly helps from phishing attacks
Helps to set up policies across domains on emails with granularity

Cons

They should introduce a mobile phone app that suffices the prevention from threats.
They still haven't implemented the ability to simply block by TLD extension.
UI/UX has room to improve and can be made more friendly.

Best suited for domains or hosts where you would want first-level filtration or prevention from hitting onto the email boxes and domains. All the protection against unknown addresses, phishing activities, and URL filtering is a good use case.

My client met many problems with email spam, malwares and data leakage. With Avanan, their email service has the highest security level which include threat detection intelligence feature. It allows to create granular policies to check incoming emails whether exists malware or not? has spam signs or not? and apply appropriate actions. Besides, Avanan can integrate with Office 365 to prevent data loss on OneDrive from sharing sensitive document to outsite and prevent internal users sending email containing unauthorized contents.

Nowadays, digital transformation is everywhere. Using cloud services is very common. Many organizations use SaaS like Office 365 or G-Suite. Storing data on cloud, sharing the data to outside are very often. With normal users, forget old data or forget shared data after projects, topic disscussion and so on,... are unavoidable. Using Avanan helps to discover and detect which data is sharing and which in them is sensitive need to be stop sharing. If don't have a solution like Avanan, it will be very difficult to control data leakage.

For scenarios where it is less appropriate, I think AI needs to be trained better to minimize false positive.

I had used Avanan for past 1 year and the services provided are excellent. One of the best things about Avanan is It provides detailed reports for the attempted attacks or issues happened with your email like number of phishing emails blocks, the number of anomalies. The other best feature it has is, Post attack Forensic and Quarantine so that the possible bad results of the attack can be minimized and and because of AI it does the self learning.

This tool protects our mailboxes from phishing email attacks. My most favourite feature is hyperlink check which checks the hyperlinks in the emails to confirm legality of those website links.

Cons

It acts as overprotective and flags non threat emails. Threat alerts are not trustable at all times.

We primarily use Avanan as a email security tool. One of the major challenges that we were facing earlier was the inflow of many malicious emails. The default security provided by the email tool was not enough and moreover there was no restriction in sharing these emails internally. With the introduction of Avanan drilling down into important summary statistics became that much more easy with its slide down menus.

Unified search query box helping find users much quicker.

Cons

The server uptime status is not very easily visible as it is tucked at the top right
Initially some threat free emails were blocked which was a major hindrance for us. But overtime, these errors reduced
The initail set up and implementation could be faster

Avanan offers excellent support in blocking out phishing and malicious emails. In fact, one of the best things with Avanan is that it is deployed more like an mobile application. The security dashboards provides an indepth insights into the Malware and Phishing security events. Additionally, Avanan extends its security to other cloud based applications like Slack and Google drive too which helps us keep our data safe and secure

Avanan has been a boon to us, with a recent surge in cases of email hacking/phishing and ransomware it has made it hard to focus and work without anyone worrying and Avanan has eliminated that issue, with its top-class email security we don’t need to worry about data leaks.

Blocks phishing threats.
Has great dashboard which helps in handling multiple users.
Can work collaboratively with Office365 and Slack.

Cons

The price is a little high considering small scale industries.
Sometimes detects regular mails as spam too even though contact is trusted.
Can improve the dashboard to help improve the user experience.

Avanan is suited for any software-based company which has and handles a lot of data that is either important or sensitive and a leak can cause a major halt or issue for the company. It also helps in preventing mistakes especially made by junior members or interns, it works as a great safety net.

We used this Avanan checkpoint tool to validate its functionality and email protection and to be able to compare it against other security tools on the market, it really is good, it was better than expected. With the acquisition of this tool, checkpoint manages to have a great first-line security coverage worldwide. It really is a very complete tool.

A very important feature is that it protects all the collaborative tools of the mail solution, such as office 365.
It has protection against ransonware.
An easy tool to implement.

Cons

I would like to find more documentation to implement and learn about the tool without the need to do a trial.
I would also like to be integrated into the infinity checkpoint portal.
They should pay attention to improving the level of support.

Avanan provides world-class email security for my organisation. I am using Avanan to safeguard against any Phishing emails or Malware. It even helps me ensure my company is following all the compliances. Avanan has great Integration support, which makes it a plug-and-play tool for my GSuite Account.

Pros

Avanan protects against phishing mails which are very common nowadays.
It even safeguards against Malware which is important to protect my system from any ransomware attacks.
Avanan has good connectivity with Gsuite, Microsoft Outlook, and all well-known email service providers.

Cons

Avanan sometimes flags important mails as security risk which could be improved.
Its support team is a bit slow, maybe because of its large customer base, but it can be improved.
Their UI/UX can also be improved to introduce more modern design.

Likelihood to Recommend

Avanan can be used for ensuring top-level security for email communications of enterprises, but it is a bit costly for small businesses. So if your business is of very high value or you have to store sensitive information or protect against malware attacks, the use of Avanan is recommended.
