Amplitude Analytics is well suited for scenarios where you have multiple data points to understand customer behavior and journeys and utilize simple to medium complexity graphs/charts. It may not be suitable for scenarios where you need to slice and dice data into highly customizable dashboards as that requires significant effort from technical teams.

If you are a SaaS business and want the best analytics tool available that will leave you plenty of room to grow then Amplitude Analytics is a great option. Also, being a part of the Amplitude community, you will see more of how the best customers set up and measure impact. If you are starting out and/or don't use customer behaviour analytics as much, then there are cheaper options out there.
My company has created a brand called "Fuzzle" around fictional furry alien creatures who came to Earth with unclear intentions. We built a companion mobile app to our NFT collection that allows our community to converse with their unique characters using conversational AI powered by OpenAI's GPT-3. We integrated Amplitude with our mobile app in order to understand how our users are interacting with the app so that we can better understand how to improve it as well as resolve any bugs that arise during development.
Pros
Mobile analytics
User funnels
UX analysis
Data visualization
Cons
Faster integration
Better data visualization
Make dashboard easier to navigate

If you are using a mobile app, Amplitude is awesome and I would highly recommend it as the best analytics tool. I use it to gain deeper insights into user behavior in our app, understand points of friction, and to identify possible bugs within our experience. I also create dashboards that make it easy for me to see on any given day how the metrics that we care most about are tracking.
Amplitude’s approach to event-based analytics and data originated from the struggles of the early commercial web, where marketing analytics mostly measured clicks, identified traffic sources, and tracked a few conversion rates. Tying Product and App Activity with Web Metrics, Seamless Tracking of the User Journey, Reporting Speed, and Ease of Use.
Pros
Reporting Speed and Ease of Use
Seamless Tracking of the User Journey
A Completed User Journey
Cons
Integrations - does not integrate natively with key A/B testing tools like VWO.

Great for larger enterprises with a bigger budget Segmentation options are great - complete the entire user journey Dashboard is intuitive and user-friendly.
Amplitude Analytics provides me with valuable insights into system performance and customer activities inside of our Platform; I use it to better understand customer health and breadth of use, to ensure they are using the most up to date software version of both our application and their device operating system, what device manufacturers are used, and application responsiveness to help head off any issues.
Pros
Very easy to share analytics with multiple team members
Easy to customize analytics without coding knowledge
Easy to standardize a set of dashboards across an organization
Cons
It might be me, but I cannot distinguish between some things like upload/download speed when it comes to syncronization
It is occasionally possible to save over something when trying to instead save as a new chart -- and the interface between pages and dashboards can be a little confusing -- so I think the UI is straightforward, but not the most clear to a new creator

Amplitude has been most useful for us to easily track customer implementation health and application/device performance. It can allow exposing where issues can arise down to an individual team or user, so granular tracking and outlier identification (bucketing) is super helpful. It's also great for quick standardization. All this can be done without from a single platform instead of having to pull the data by going into every instance individually, so it is a big time saver, and allows for information to flow up to the executive level quickly, providing quick summaries of important stats.
