Pros
Strong data management and organization features
Powerful automation capabilities with custom scripts and automated emails
Customizable views tailored to specific user needs
Significant improvements in efficiency and time savings
Enhanced communication and collaboration across teams
Cons
Pricing considerations not explicitly addressed in reviews, requiring independent evaluation
Reliance on user configuration for optimal performance, potentially requiring training
Structuring data is crucial, and Airtable is the best app for it. I use it as a single source of truth for finances (accounts and transactions), as a CRM (people, organizations, and form submissions), and much more. Paired with its powerful databases, it also offers robust automation capabilities, which I use for sending personalized auto-responses and much more.
Pros
Structuring information
Automation with structured information
Interface for interacting with information
Cons
It's only for internal use because it supports neither custom domains nor custom code. That's an Achilles heel
Likelihood to Recommend
Exceedingly well suited for centralizing, structure and automating data for internal use. Its lack of support for custom domains or CSS prohibits use for public-facing needs.
My division of the organization uses Airtable to track media asset rights clearance, content updates, and quality checking. These uses primarily relate to the maintenance of content on our Education website. We maintain thousands of educational resources that go through routine updates and require copyright clearance for the use of media assets.
Pros
Data collection and organization
Record keeping
Content planning
Project management
Cons
The help section isn't very useful to intermediate users who know the basics but haven't built up to more advanced skills.
Airtable isn't as simple as advertised. There is more of a learning curve than the marketing would have you think. Training my less technically-savvy colleagues in Airtable can be challenging.
I don't care for the implementation of AI features in Airtable. It feels like a useless response to a fad that grows more annoying by the day. For example, I would never trust an LLM to fill in the blanks on my organization's work--it wouldn't "know" what to put in there, anyway. The capacity that goes towards AI features could be better directed towards other things.
Likelihood to Recommend
Airtable is very well suited to record keeping. My team uses it to track media asset clearance, third party vendors' feedback on our content, and the implementation of that feedback, among other things. It makes it particularly easy for us to pull together visual representations of our progress on projects as well. I would not recommend it to anyone who wants to connect Airtable with Wrike, however, as the price of that is exorbitant.
We use Airtable for many tasks, including: 1. Registration, email communications, and check-in for events 2. Tracking budgets 3. Tracking inventory and multimedia assets 4. Contacts/Mailing List 5. Project Management
Pros
Organization of Information and flexibility to customize it
There are so many automations that save time
Once you learn it, Airtable is easy - and fun - to use
Cons
Getting "bases" to "talk" to each other (aka sync data)
Forms lack some functionality and options that dedicated form creation software platforms have
It can take some time to learn how to create bases and set up automations
Figuring out the coding to input to run processes can be challenging, especially for users with no coding experience.

When it comes to event planning, Airtable has saved so much time. We are able to quickly set up registration forms with automated and customized email templates. Then, on the backend, we are able to track RSVPs, make notes, assign roles, check folks in, etc. If we want to send further communication, that is easy to do as well. Checking folks in at events is quick and easy. AirTable is a multi-purpose software that can simultaneously served many needs, from events planning and management to budgeting to reporting on metrics.
I use Airtable to track and manage my design projects. It allows me to stay on top of my assignments, and at a glance I can view the status of all of my current projects. Using Airtable helps prevent important tasks from falling through the cracks.
Pros
I can create tables, create and customize fields
Airtable has capabilities commonly found in spreadsheet applications, but also has some of the features found in databases.
The ability to filter fields. I set up a filter on the status field, so when a project is marked, complete, on hold, or canceled, that record is hidden from my current projects table view. If it is marked complete, the record is moved to the completed projects table view. In this way I can easily access a record of past projects
Being able to duplicate tables and create alternate views
Collapse and expand records. When I collapse the rows, I can easily scan current projects, next steps, project status, and due dates. When I expand the row, or field, I can see more detailed information about that field or record very easily. I can also expand or open the entire record. This is is helpful, when I am entering a lot of information to multiple fields in that record.
Cons
Changing font color | I wish Airtable had this feature, this would be incredibly helpful. I often have a long lists of projects and tasks. When I have a high priority project, it would be great to mark that project name in orange or red text or another standout color, so I don't lose sight of it.
Credit Program | Airtable has a credit referral program, that awards you with credits toward upgrades within the application. A credit that you could also use outside of the application would be better.
Workspace Appearance | You can change and customize the workspace appearance and change the dashboard color. There are some preset colors you could choose, but it would be great if they added a color picker, where you could pick a custom color or select a color with a hex value to match your organization's colors or just your own preferences.

If you want to view your projects and tasks in a list view and have some database functionality, then Airtable is great for that. If you like to work in tiles and drag tasks or projects into different columns as the status changes, then Airtable may not work for you.
We are using Airtable for managing our small projects withing the marketing department. Airtable allows us to be organized and add all out tasks with one workspace. Tagging members and sharing files with Airtable is so easy and assigning tasks using this platform is very convenient and facilitate our remote work during this COVID-19 situtation.
Pros
Easy to use in managing projects
Allows multiple users to work easily
Great integration with Slack for better communication
Cons
Mobile app needs more improvement
More templates are required to fit any project
Likelihood to Recommend
Airtable is a great online platform for project management. It can be suitable to any type of project and the database has many great features for data entry and tracking records and history.
Airtable greatly improved our team collaboration work. This product is used among our IT department to manage projects and to make priority lists for small projects that requires more attention. Airtable is easy to use and allows us to track the progress our group assignments. This products help us to save a lot of effort and time.
Pros
Easy and simple to use
Great browser extension
Lovely userinterface
Very effective for team work
Cons
There is not reporting system
There is not charting system
Likelihood to Recommend
Airtable allows us to keep track and records for all of our small projects. It also allows all our the team members to collaborate effectively to meet all our deadline and it also allows to keep the logs for each single project. Airtable has a great attachment system that supports various file extension. It saves us time and effort.
We use Airtable as a way to collaborate on specific projects across departments. It helps everyone on a cross-functional team have concurrent visibility into the project, add notes and tags, and track the progress of the various project pieces. We only use it in relation to projects for a specific product. It is not used across the whole organization.
Pros
Users across the project can collaborate in real-time, without having to wait for someone to close the document, and without worrying about edits contradicting each other.
Airtable allows for easy implementation of functionality like column types, without the complicated and time-consuming functions of Excel required to accomplish the same things.
Creating a base and inviting your collaborators is quick and easy. Users can be granted different privileges.
The tool is flexible enough to manage many different types of projects, everything from simple action item tracking and tagging to complex details and dates associated with client implementations.
Cons
It is frustrating that collaborators cannot view different filters of a base concurrently. This has caused confusion during meetings, i.e. "Who removed my filters?"
I wish that adding color to the records was not a paid feature. That seems like very basic functionality compared to all the other functionality included in the free version.
It would be nice to have the option to auto-fit the row heights to the text, instead of a fixed row height across the base. That way we could see all the text in each record without having to double-click on some longer ones even in the "Extra Tall" view.
Likelihood to Recommend
We have successfully used Airtable to aggregate and tag user feedback, and to track the details and dates of project delivery. We have been somewhat less successful in using it to track action items related to a large, complex project. The lack of success in this latter example has to do with the base being a bit unwieldy, and since we are using the free version, we are not able to color the records for easier at-a-glance analysis. That project is also a bit less concrete in general, with a lot of nebulous action items that have no definite end dates or success metrics. So Airtable seems better suited to projects with well-defined parameters and metrics.

Currently Airtable is being used as our primary social media scheduling platform. It is the best for this because of all the features it offers our company. We do a lot of long term social media planning it it really creates a space for all of our team to collaborate on our posts. I give airtable 10/10 on what we use it for!
Pros
Allows the posts to be scheduled day to day
Allows for monthly view of the scheduled posts
Allows for others to collaborate on scheduling
Cons
It would be nice to have enough space to see more than 3 events in any given day
It would also be nice to have the ability to mark off a day as complete.
More space to write captions.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for planning social. It is not well suited for placing images and captions into the event itself.
My Marketing department uses Airtable to schedule social media on a digital content calendar. We are new users to Airtable and have been using it for less than 6 months. In our social media scheduling, we use Airtable to determine platform, caption, hashtags, what group of our users the post targets, what photo will be used, the day the post will be made, the day the event is happening (if applicable), and any link that will be included with the post (if applicable.)
Pros
Calendar view
Customization/Versatility
Ease of use
Cons
Different views
Color coding (may be available on paid version)
Likelihood to Recommend
For social media scheduling, I do like Airtable. Some direct compatibility to social media platforms or tools like Buffer or Hootsuite would be great, but I understand that Airtable is not designed exclusively for social media purposes. It works very well for our small Marketing department to plan out our social media weeks and months at a time.
I work in Primary Education; delivering the National Curriculum for Computing/ICT. This includes all year groups; from Reception to Year 6 (4 to 11 year olds). Databases form part of that curriculum. Pupils have to learn to populate, create and develop databases, and to analyse the data entered using sorting, filtering (queries), searching and graphs. Our old software became obsolete a few years ago, at which time I researched education products, later widening my parameters to include products developed for business. I needed a product that was easy to use, met all of the criteria, and was cost effective. Airtable filled my requirements perfectly. I prefer it to any of the education products. More recently I have started to use it to track student data and to create a resource inventory. I have enthusiastically recommended it to a number of people.
Pros
The website is very well laid out. It is uncluttered, easy to navigate, and is highly visual. There are a great range of field types and add-on blocks.
Setting up bases is very straightforward. If you get stuck the help section and videos are excellent. You can also access Airtable Universe to see examples of how the product is used by others.
I have submitted a number of queries by email and in each case the staff were very helpful and responded quickly. Given that I was using a free account at the time, I was very impressed.
Given that I have used the product with very young children successfully, I think that it is extremely well designed.
Cons
They only thing I can think of is being able to switch between user accounts without having to log on and off.
A personal request, would be to add shades of brown to the color palette. When working with the children, we color code field options for eyes and hair. The only children I can't do this for is brunettes with brown eyes. A small thing I know, but it would really help the younger children as it is a visual clue.

As mentioned previously, I currently developing an Airtable base to track student data and other teaching resource inventory. The children create year group databases. All of which work very well. I haven't encountered any issues or unsuitability thus far.
