For retargeting. Affordable retargeting on FB and Google and its partner. I joined the platform because I could upload an email list for CRM retargeting. I usually turn it on when my deals are in pipeline. Because I know my client would have visited the website and I want to reply to my emails. I might switch to their b2b counterpart.
Pros
Aggressive retargeting
HTML Ads
Availablity of Ad formats
Cons
CRM email list upload
Make the UI less complex
Separate email retargeting from the platform
Likelihood to Recommend
Retargeting and HTML ads combo and affordable low budget option
Utilizing AdRoll for display marketing and some website retargeting. It's currently being used by the marketing team and helps create campaigns across multiple channels instead of having to do it one by one. The ability to select your target audience and obtain reporting based on the campaigns is very useful and saves time.
Pros
Reporting
User-Friendly Interface
Wide Audience for targeting
Cons
Results - Not as good as other platforms when running A/B tests
Platform updates - These tend to not be very helpful and often makes the platform more difficult to use
Likelihood to Recommend
If you want to generate a lot of brand awareness and generate lots of traffic - this is for you. If you don't care who is looking, then this will be fine. If you want to generate quality traffic to your site - this isn't for you. There are other platforms that perform better when compared with AdRoll.

We use AdRoll for about 50 customers to retarget to their website visitors. We make sure to use it so that when people visit certain pages on the website, they get specific ads to follow them around. We also do call tracking, contact forms, landing pages and more to ensure we can know what is converting and what is not converting. We try to have at least 2-3 ad groups for each client and account.
Pros
the retargeting definitely triggers
Their design team helps create the ads
Customer service is good
Cons
Customer service is good, not great. We've been shuffled around a lot
The dashboard is sometimes confusing
Credit cards often give us issues. Sometimes they reject the cards for no reason

AdRoll is a good product if you are trying to retarget to your website visitors. We have used it effectively to retarget to people who have visited our clients' websites and specific pages within the site. We do not have experience with retargeting based on specific products, but we do with specific services.
Our agency used AdRoll to place digital advertising for our clients. We used it across multiple clients and used it to place ads through multiple platforms The business problem for the agency that was solved was software that enabled us to get moving very quickly. We also felt that the re-targeting "tools" were much more user-friendly than most platform or programmatic tools. The really interesting part about the software is I don't think we were using all of the tools - which means there's a lot to explore and a lot to help small- to mid-sized agencies scale.
Pros
Easy to use campaign builder
Access to popular ad inventory
Easy to use/create dashboard
Cons
Clarity around placement of ads
Interface for custom audience creation
That's really about it!

I used AdRoll at my previous agency and liked it. So much so, I am in the process of getting my new agency on board with using AdRoll. The primary reason is that it can be very advantageous for a small agency that doesn't meet many of the programmatic minimum ad buys to use. For many of our clients, re-targeting is also very important. I have found that I can get those types of campaigns up and running much quicker than using a platform directly. Overall, AdRoll is really easy to use and can be a great, low-barrier option for smaller agencies.

We use AdRoll as a display retargeting platform for a few clients at our agency. We use it to supplement the retargeting capabilities of other advertising networks like Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and Microsoft Ads. We use it on the paid marketing side of things, and it fits in well with our other paid media channels.
Pros
Variety of advertising media types and sizes
Variety of audiences you can choose from to advertise to
The interface is pretty up to date and easy to use
Cons
I'm not sure I trust AdRoll's attributed "revenue". It appears to be significantly overcalculating its effectiveness.
I find the interface a bit confusing in a few places like if you want to see reporting for specific audiences split out.
Switching between editing campaigns and viewing campaign metrics is a bit confusing.
Likelihood to Recommend
We use AdRoll specifically for retargeting as a supplement to our other display and retargeting channels, as we figure each channel (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) does not cover every potential advertising placement. It is easy to spin up a basic retargeting campaign, but I'm unsure if it's the best platform for more advanced campaigns as the functionality and breadth of placement options appear to be limited compared to bigger platforms.
At DND we used AdRoll primarily for retargeting campaigns across Canada - to get our ads in front of new audiences and drive traffic back to our owned properties - such as website, landing pages, or product pages. We serve in a niche industry - but AdRoll has an excellent database of sources that helped us get in front of potential buyers and prospects in a cost-effective manner. This generated solid top-of-the-funnel prospects and leads for our nurture campaigns.
Pros
Dynamic Retargeting
Lookalike Targeting Feature
Marketing Recipes
Cons
Some metrics are not easy to track and attribute
Better integration with Hubspot/MAP tools
Likelihood to Recommend
AdRoll is really well suited when you have a good understanding of your target audience. And then you can really get the most out of the platform to get your ad in front of those people. The core feature of AdRoll is its excellent retargeting capabilities and deep database for niche audiences and industries. It's a little less intuitive in media planning and scheduling - there are other tools that work a lot better for that aspect of digital.
We use AdRoll to get broad retargeting reach across most of the web to capture leads or sales that would've otherwise fallen through the cracks due to customers forgetting to finalize things on their end. Especially after we have spent money on digital ads to drive prospects to sales pages, we want to maximize the ad pay by using AdRoll to close a few more sales.
Pros
ROI
Low CPC
Cons
No ability to pre-populate the previous 30 days of customer data, only starting from the day the tag is installed.
Likelihood to Recommend
AdRoll is excellent for remarketing to audiences that haven't converted to a lead or sale yet.
AdRoll is part of our programmatic tech stack for display advertising and is currently being primarily used as a tool for retargeting and prospecting for new audience members. The technology has worked so far and the quality of audiences discovered by AdRoll is of a significantly higher quality when compared to other technologies.
Pros
Retargeting.
Remarketing.
Cons
Customer support.
API integration is difficult.
Likelihood to Recommend
Custom creative and the ability to run dynamic ads is a great plus and major differentiation that gives AdRoll a leg up on the competition. If integration into a full tech stack is your goal then you need patience and know-how to integrate AdRoll's tech into your DMP/BMP

AdRoll is used by our marketing department to target and retarget customers. When someone visits our site, they will see customized ads from us on other websites once they leave. It helps remind them of who we are and what we offer and invites them back to check us out again, especially if they have been looking at certain products or services.
Pros
Customized ads so you can showcase what you want.
Flexible marketing by setting a budget.
Great analytics to see what works and what doesn't.
Cons
Some parts of the platform are hard to use for beginners.
Delayed updates on ad performance.
Support may take some time to get back to you for any issue.

It is great when you have lots of visitors on your website that don't take any action but looking around. By retargeting them they may return to purchase from you. It works great for selling actual products. AdRoll may be less suited for just informational websites where you don't get any actual profit from customers coming back. Nevertheless, if willing to invest in getting more return customers, AdRoll will work well for anyone.
