We use pieces of the platform, specially AEM, Target, Analytics, and Adobe Launch. It's used by brands within our ministry but not all departments. The platform helps govern our data collection, website structures, and provide one unified toolset that can be used across our business.
Pros
Integrated products for a holistic multi-channel marketing platform
Customization at it's finest. Very granular in it's settings, permissions, and functionality
Sophisticated products that are very powerful
Cons
You need to be well trained and resourced to use the product
Features and integration work but often times you need to pay Adobe consultants for help
Not transparent in their pricing per customer

The Adobe Experience Platform is well suited for companies that are maturing or have matured in their digital offerings and are looking for very sophisticated tools to elevate to the next level. It's also for well resourced teams, both financially and head count to take advantage of the deep functionality and integrations.
We use AEP to host our marketing and sales data for specific use cases. Activating profiles with RT-CDP to various destinations are seamless and very easy to execute. We also use CJA for reporting and since it’s based on AEP, there is definitely a lot of customer data we are able to analyze, especially between offline and online channels.
We are also able to measure customer experience using our call center data with online behaviours. This tool helps with value realisation especially with our marketing investments.
Pros
Host online/offline data with common IDs
Ease of profile activation to destinations
Flexibility around how many sources and destinations can be used to move data
Cons
Some basic reporting flexibility within AEP would be useful without dependencies on CJA.
More AI driven recommendations for campaign/profile activations would be helpful.

I think AEP is ahead of its competitors when it comes to hosting customer data for various use cases. It’s seamless integration with other Adobe products like AJO or CJA make it a very compelling overall package.
It may not be very applicable for smaller or medium sized businesses. There could be an opportunity for Adobe to bring in a trimmed down version for such customers.
