Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have standardised our B2C eCommerce engine across 20 countries on Adobe Commerce and our goal is to migrate to Adobe Commerce in 10 more countries over the next couple of years.

We are looking to move away from legacy solutions that make up a very fragmented ecosystem currently and to standardise on a best in class solution that will allow us to stretch scarce investment dollars while also enabling us to deliver a best in class eCommerce experience for our consumer and small business customers.

Pros

Store Administration is very granular allowing different roles and permissions depending on job type
Scalability supporting new country launches
Extensive feature set meaning we can often leverage instead of develop
GDPR and Compliance Laws are key considerations for us as we operate local stores on a global scale

Cons

The shift in strategy away from PWA has cost us dearly in terms of $ and time
Customer segments and groups for private store experiences, we found that we had a lot of development work to do in this space

Likelihood to Recommend

Primarily B2C focused, I think that the B2B features are increasing but the core focus of the platform (and Magento) is really consumer-based.

That said, if you are looking for the fastest time to market with minimal investment option then Adobe Commerce is likely not the option that 9 out of 10 people would opt for nowadays.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Adobe Commerce as our primary platform to run and manage our website. We needed a cloud based platform for a small business team making it easy to make updates and provide a good experience for our customers. We are primarily a B2C however we do take advantage of the B2B functions available with Adobe Commerce as well.

Pros

The ease of use with page builder requiring no developer skills to maintain most of our pages.
The catalog is straightforward and easy to use and having the ability to update pricing and other key pieces based on customer group is very helpful.
Many of the extensions Adobe Commerce has help us to do what we need to do more quickly without a great deal of development efforts and cost.

Cons

Although Page builder is great to have and allows us to do a lot of things without developer support it lacks some key accessibility aspects and causes a lot of work to clean it up on the out of box blocks etc.
I don't want to have to upgrade or choose new Saas to have fast performing platform. It's disappointing that our site speed is so much slower than our competitors. Wish there was something more that could be done for those of us just on Magento Adobe Commerce Platform.
I don't like that there are so many patches and upgrades to the platform costing our company budget dollars that could be spent on higher priorities.

Likelihood to Recommend

We are a B2C that crosses over and functions like a B2B. The out of box Adobe Commerce offering is something we would could not do without a great deal of custom coding with other platforms.

We use the platform for selling our products at different markets across our company. Currently we are supporting 3 markets, several more are to come

Pros

Product catalogue and management of products
Very variable for setting up and configure the environments

Cons

Better management of prices (new services available, I know)
Upgrade of platform, patches, relative big leaps to take if you need to upgrade
Finding the right configuration can be hard - there can be many ways of "getting the job done"

As a commerce platform it is generally very powerful, but it can be hard to customize when needed.
