Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Achievers is a great way to allow all employees to recognize the contributions of other employees. It also serves as a fantastic way for Management to acknowledge and (optionally reward) employees for employee contributions and efforts. The project leader can even recognize an entire team for work on a project. Achievers lets you do all of the things I have mentioned in a way that is visible to all employees within an organization and is, therefore, a great morale booster.

Pros

  • It promotes employee-to-employee recognition.
  • It provides a way for Management to periodically reward employees for their efforts.
  • It provides an incentive for great work as some of the Achievers rewards are incredible!

Cons

  • It is difficult to think of a "con" to encouraging employees to work harder or congratulate other's hard work.
  • It can take some time to build up a substantial number of points for the more extravagant rewards.

Likelihood to Recommend

Achievers is well suited in a team-based environment. In this type of environment, there is much visibility to the efforts of each team members. Rewarding such efforts in a visible manner encourages the entire team.

Achievers is not well-suited for <b>any </b>environment where Management "plays favorites" with specific employees. Although these "favorite" employees will enjoy the benefits of the Achievers acknowledgment and rewards, such favoritism will serve to discourage hardworking employees not in the "favorites" group.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our organization, we use Achievers for a number of purposes. The first and most common use is to celebrate small victories. We want to make sure people who go above and beyond receive some sort of recognition. These recognitions can be point-based or simple "thank yous" but each type is very well received. The second way is through contests. Whenever we need participation from our sales field, we'll host a contest and award points through Achievers as a reward for participating.

One of the really cool things about Achievers is that the points awarded can be collected and redeemed for awards that are relevant to the redeemer. These awards range in category from gift cards (both physical and electronic) to brand name merchandise and even experiences. They even offer a service where if you can't find something in the catalog that you'd like, they'll have one of their concierges contact you to create an experience that you're interested in.

The experience with the platform has been widely appreciated and adopted by all levels within our organization. One downside is the exchange rate of points to merchandise value.

Likelihood to Recommend

Achievers is well suited as a rewards and recognition platform - which is what it was designed for. It's less appropriate for a company intranet to share files and documents with one another. Allowing users to do both on one platform would be a great solution for bridging the gap between corporate communication and rewards.
