Absorb LMS is used by organizations to manage and deliver essential training programs, focusing on compliance, skills development, and onboarding processes. In TrustRadius reviews, users highlight its intuitive user interface and strong user experience, which is noted by six reviewers. The platform's robust customization capabilities and comprehensive course creation features further support diverse training needs. It helps streamline the onboarding experience for new hires and supports various aspects of workforce development.
Reviewers frequently report that Absorb LMS reduces administrative burdens and enhances operational efficiency, contributing to faster course setup and content creation. It also supports increased compliance and improved learner engagement. However, areas for improvement include reporting functionality, specifically the need for more robust standard and custom reports, and refinements to the administrative user interface. Reviewers also seek clearer guidance for content creation. Overall, the platform is seen as a valuable tool for streamlining learning processes.
Pros
Intuitive user interface and user experience for both administrators and learners.
Extensive customization options for diverse training programs and personalized dashboards.
Detailed reporting and analytics for insights into learner progress and engagement.
Responsive and high-quality customer support.
Comprehensive and easy-to-use course creation features.
Cons
Limited robustness of standard reporting features.
Complexity and difficulty in creating custom reports.
Administrative user interface requires refinement for certain tasks.
Lack of clear guidance and streamlined processes for content creation.
We use Absorb LMS for internal training & onboarding, improving professionalism & accessibility in our remote company.
Pros
It is a tool great for remote teams.
For the end-users it has an intuitive interface.
Cons
It needs to have Slack integration.
It needs to have better UX/UI on the reporting side.

Well Suited for: Company-Wide Onboarding – We are able to standardize onboarding training and it has made the new hire experience more consistent Role-Specific Training – Since we use it for internal training on different topics based on job roles.
Less Appropriate for: companies with a less structured training program and someone that has a lot of time on their hands to make sure the implementation is correct.
As an Instructional Designer, I am the administrator of our Absorb LMS and create the courses that train our clients to be successful with our software product. Recently, we have also started an internal certification program where we use the leaderboards provided via Absorb.
Pros
Fairly recent upgrade to the course player.
Ability to create roles for different levels of access.
Use of a sandbox for testing and research.
Cons
I wish that reports could include data from multiple tables. It seems like each report is missing just one or two things that would make it really useful. Instead, I have to use multiple reports to get all of the required information.
The leaderboards had some funky things going on, like pulling two different certifications into one board. We found workarounds, but the leaderboards could definitely be improved.
Expiration dates on billboards would be a huge plus!
We would like to be able to create our own custom import files rather than needing their technical department to create and update them for us. We reviewed some other vendors who offered this feature.
The available import functionality is very selective; it would be nice if that were made easier to use.
We had a heck of a time trying to get our contract renewal quote. It took several months, which caused some issues with our budgeting process.
The way seats are counted is ridiculous. We would not be able to track our seat usage accurately, as any user who logs in uses a seat for a full year from the time they log in, whether they log in again or not. A monthly tally would be so much more practical.
There are inconsistencies in the UI. For example, a menu might look and work one way on one screen and differently on another.

The account managers have always been great, easy to work with, and knowledgeable. The software does the job we need it to. There can always be improvements, but because the Instructional Designers (two of us) manage the LMS, create courses, and resolve tickets for clients, there really isn't time for us to use more functions.
We use Absorb to host the internal and external training of our software.
Pros
Uses the latest version of Articulate 360 SCORM packets.
Ease of creating user accounts.
Customization of Learner Portal.
Cons
More out-of-the-box reporting functionality without having to pay for an upgraded version.
The ability to control client Admin permissions better. Some permissions are lumped with others. I would like to see them all individually so that we have more control over what our clients have access to.
Better instructions on how to manually import users.

Absorb does a great job hosting our training courses. The main complaint I have is the lack of reporting options.
We had no LMS. I identified Absorb as perfect for our basic/standard LMS needs. We required somewhere to host learning videos, track their usage, provide assessments, and provide reports on LMS usage. Absorb was a cheap solution that offered further capabilities as and when we needed them, such as SSo integration with Salesforce, the ability to sell training to customers, etc.
Pros
Upload content, there are various types supported.
User management.
Customising user experience.
Has many features that are standard.
Can expand if need be on function and features.
Cons
Templates for uploading courses: I generally use the same information, but for every course, I have to go through all the settings.
hard to find topics in the help.
There are menu options for setting up a system in different places, but that could be simplified.
Likelihood to Recommend
It performs well as a LMS. Having the system hosted by Absorb also keeps the pressure on our own organization to manage the platform. I also left the system easy to implement! It was ready for course material after one week of signing the contract! I think it is relatively easy to use.

We use Absorb LMS to provide Instructor Led and Video/On-Demand training for our external customers. We needed a public site to display our training courses for customers to purchase and a way to deliver the training. We needed an easy-to-use portal for our learners to be able to take the training and track their progress. We needed gamification and collaboration.
Pros
Allows customization for different customers
Provides a way to sell training to customers
Provides ways to distribute learning keys to users
Cons
User interface needs more flexibility
Resource library needs more ways to exclude or include departments or users
Core reporting and dashboards need assistance
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited to deliver internal training. Less appropriate for delivering a subscription service. Resource library needs more flexibility as well as user interface.
We use Absorb LMS for internal employees training (compliance, onboarding, updates). We also use it for our customers's training: we have several certification programs that are addressed to our customers. In Absorb LMS we also offer our customers product onboarding training and additional education trainings to further their understanding of our products
Pros
Course Management
Interface creations
Webinar tools integration
Cons
Assessment functionalities
Questions answers options
Webinar session set up options

It's great to cater for different audiences with templates and department, customize user interface, and provide a good user experience
We use Absorb to distribute training to our internal employees, as well as to distribute product training to our client base. Absorb is a fully functional LMS for our employees, but truly shines when it comes to our needed support for our client training. Here, Absorb allows us to customize the messaging and training distributed to various segments of our client base. Our client-facing training takes the form of videos, PDF's, quizzes, and SCORM or TinCan files, all of which Absorb handles with ease and provides accurate tracking for. We offer a variety of free and paid training, with custom pricing for some of our larger clients. Absorb's eCommerce features are robust and allow us to meet all of these needs with minimal manual manipulation.
Pros
Up-time. (We have never experienced an outage that impacted us or our clients.)
Tracking and reporting.
Customization of the platform by Department
eCommerce
Cons
Zoom integration can sometimes be a bit wonky (and auto-course attendance does not seem to work consistently, but our application with clients is unique)
The admin interface could use a UX redesign - It's not quite as pretty or as self-explanatory as the learner interface

Absorb is a well-rounded LMS. With a competitive price point, it makes a great entry point LMS for smaller companies who haven't used an LMS. And with it's robust feature set and stability can grow with you into a large multi-national audience.
We use Absorb to cover our training needs for employees and customers. Its content creation tools helped us build strong and agile courses and curriculums on topics such as onboarding and product knowledge, which can be easily monitored through their reporting features. The simple interface and features allow users from different departments to understand and develop their different solutions.
Pros
Course creation
Reports
enrollment rules
Cons
You can add additional content creation tools
You could work on a simpler UX and UI
A functionallity that allows testing course content before publishing

Their Customer Success Program is on point. Our Client Success Manager, Cody R., has been very helpful, makes an effort to understand our business needs, and works hard to come up with solutions or workarounds. Whenever we face a challenge or issue, we know we can come back to him and he will always try to get a solution suitable for us.
We use Absorb to support our internal learning centre to provide a centralized learning platform for employees. We use this to host company wide trainings, while also giving individual departments and business units the ability to post internal trainings to their employees.
Pre Absorb we had no LMS, which meant all L&D functionality was manual - reporting, marking attendance, scheduling sessions, targeted employee training etc. We also had nowhere to house all of the internal e-learnings that we had available. Absorb has helped us to fix this by centralizing all learning, providing in-depth reporting through Analyze, and offering e-learnings via uploaded SCORM files.
Pros
Our CSM has been fantastic. Very approachable and takes on all questions/concerns we have.
Analyze has allowed us to take our reporting to another level.
Robust support site where client feedback/ideas can be posted. This is reviewed by the product team to determine whether this can be implemented. The feedback is always taken on board and I have seen a number of suggested ideas move forward to the implementation phase.
Great knowledge base for admins with articles/resources to provide step by step work throughs of the different features available.
Cons
At the moment you are unable to schedule recurring sessions that are different durations and/or cadence to each other. For e.g. if you have 3 ILC sessions and the time between session 1 and 2 is 1 week but 2 and 3 is 2 weeks, then this can't be recurring. Meaning individual ILC sessions need to be set up and users having to enroll in 3 sessions instead of 1.
Auto enrolment for ILC sessions would be great. Would allow us to automatically new employees in to the required onboarding training without us having to do a manual file upload via FTP
Custom messaging options. In addition to the messages that can already be sent out, it would be great if custom messaging could be sent out to address a certain subject that is not covered in the existing messaging.
The option to send out resources at certain intervals after a training has taken place. We send out learning boosters for our programmes at 2 day, 2 week, 2 month intervals. This is a manual task as there is no way to automate this via Absorb.

The ability to scale up quickly while providing more in depth tools (engage, analyze) to provide more functionality. As these are add-ons, you are able to build a package that is best suite to your organisation. On the whole, we have very few examples where Absorb is not suited to us as an organisation, however I could see how if you were considerable smaller, then it could be quite an expensive option if you want to have access to the full suite of features.
We use Absorb across 3 different groups: Internal, Partners, and Customers to educate and enable learners on various topics. Topics range from soft skills to product specific technical skills. Our learners range from unlimited access to single course access. Some learners have 0 cost and others pay by the course using Absorb's shopping cart.
Pros
Clean interface for learners
Logical organization of courses
Admin portal is OK
Cons
Customer Support is unresponsive and poor
Inconsistent interface in the product
Reporting out of Absorb is cumbersome
No search functionality within courses.
Likelihood to Recommend
Absorb worked well for us for a number of years but once we started to push the limits of the software, the company and the product let us down. Support became unresponsive and the product enhancements that we were told were coming never did.
