We use it for our main phone system, IVR (auto attendant), as well as several extensions, fax management, meetings (dont like zoom), and some SMS. without 8x8 Work our calls would just come in without being filtered and not to the correct person we also map calls differently based on schedules, day and time. this allows us to be efficient and professional. We now have a presences that gives us legitimacy. They have the ability to provide very complex workflows for the phone system, all included for the rate, unlike others which you pay for every feature. Great for the small business and robust enough to handle large contact centers. Their customer support was very helpful when we needed them. Once up and running we've never had an issue with their servers, phone audio smooth and full, calls never drop. Great value for the cost, they have different packages that have unlimited long distance to a selection of countries. you can have different packages for different phone lines, which is great as we have some lines that need Asian countries and others just Canada and US which reduces costs.
Pros
Routing calls, hold music and/or ads
good pricing
integrate with CRM
Cons
better compatibility with phones, had a bunch of Yealink and couldnt use them. Id like to use them now if they became compatible.
more billing options payment methods, like e-transfer etc.
easier to use interface, just entering the control panel or billing area (which are separate) can be confusing.

works good for remote workers, I also find it convenient as a owner on the go, I am able to access everything even when traveling. though it can be integrated into CRM would be a 1000 times better if it would have native integration with Odoo which is the ERP we use. also used by millions of other users. other companies have built in connectors with Odoo. Odoo has a full VOIP, which uses a service such as 8x8 Work.
8x8 fits my organation very well. We use the the service for tradtional ip deskphones and the mobile apps. The desktop app is used by our users that prefer the easy of answering and taking calls on there computer and not needed to switch heads because there other communication apps on the computer already use the same headsets. We have users that prefer the mobile app added to there cell phones so they never miss a call that whould have just went to there deskphones. I also have it deployed to in house cell phones that only have that app and no cell service, and the calls work great over wifi. 8x8 provides us all the felxability in Communication that we need.
Pros
Desktop Application thats always updated.
Mobile application thats updated.
Admin web page that easy to configure users.
Cons
Offer a option to opt in on service outages alerts on the mobile apps. Most of the time they are not affecting me.
The interface for texting extrenal people on the mobile app could use a redesign.
Likelihood to Recommend
We use the desktop and mobile app the most. Its well suited for our needs because deskphones are just outdated and dont provide flexablity in the work place. Its much easier for Custmer service to switch between taking a teams call, a zoom metting, and answering a custmer call with the same headset on.
We thankfully started using 8x8 Work shortly before the pandemic hit. I am grateful we had it set up before all that chaos hit. I don't know what we would have done without it! We were able to seamlessly work from home with no problems whatsoever. It was amazing. None of our clients even knew we working from home. They were all able to communicate with our staff as they always did.
Pros
Direct calls to the extensions.
Callers were able to either talk to our individual staff members or leave a message.
We loved having a record of every single call that came in for CRM purposes.
We loved being able to collect our messages from the console.
Cons
It could be just a tiny tad bit more user friendly.
There could be slightly more support when first starting with 8x8 Work.
It would be nice to have a real person show up and set things up and do a tutorial for the entire staff. I know that's not realistic but it would be nice.

I had an employee that had long COVID and was sick quite a bit. We did not want her at the office. She worked from home a good bit, and that was a good thing. When she was too sick to answer the phone and take her own calls it was so easy to configure her number for me or someone else to take her calls.

We use 8x8 in our multiple location midsize business as our main communication and collaboration tool. 8x8 would scale very well for larger companies with many functions and methods of communication including video calls/meetings, business SMS, and faxing. The mobile app works seamlessly and enables business communication on the go, or work at home capability with no loss of function and no additional hardware.
Pros
Connect across multiple lines of communication
Eliminate the need for additional applications/channels
provide easy call management regardless of volume
Cons
Interface of the chat channel. Introduce more features
Add better Netsuite integration
Create better presence management
Likelihood to Recommend
The integration of multiple communication platforms has allowed me to work from home and travel with no loss of productivity. Colleagues and clients had no idea I was away from the office.
8x8 Work has the best option when you are doing business in multiple countries due to its plan for country package, it's does not charge extra to us. This was the major challenge for us to cut the cost for calling international customers. It has multiple addon features with no additional cost like other options available out there for example many charge for company call recording separately but 8x8 Work comes with package.
Pros
Call Recording
Call Barge option to hear the call if there is any issue with any customer
ease of selecting number
ease of sms campaign setup
Multiple addons with no extra charge
Cons
adding one single option to give customer user access and create admin access instead of going to assignment to provide options
Addon option for Whatsapp
integration with ecommerce platform
Likelihood to Recommend
Its best suited to call customers from any devices, manage contacts, call recording options, package for international calling. The only thing is option are wide spread so sometime you want the option its there but to active it you need to find that option by going to other place to activate it which is little tricky.

We use 8x8 in our office as a replacement for our phone & fax systems. As the person in the front office, 8x8 is an invaluable tool for me. The dashboard makes it so easy for me to see who is on a call, who is away from their desk, etc. It saves me so much time because I'm not forwarding calls to coworkers who are already on the phone. I use it for faxes, and I utilize the Contacts also.
Pros
lots of updates to improve the system features
easy to use interface
great help when needed
Cons
my ONLY issue is that I wish I could hear whether a fax has connected or not. Hearing the dial tone, busy signal or whatever would be a huge help
Likelihood to Recommend
The lack of sound when faxing is my only issue. Otherwise, I am perfectly pleased.
I own an auto dealership, and 8x8 handled all my phone lines, voicemails, and auto-response very well... They moved all my phone lines and 800 numbers quickly and correctly, moving them from my last phone company... The 8x8 price structure is good and very competitive... I highly recommend the 8x8 guys to any business.
Pros
Transfers 800 numbers.
Easy service to use.
Their customer support is direct and handles the job quickly and efficiently.
Controls your phone numbers and moves them quickly without losing any.
Cons
A better explanation of what's required of you as a customer to get the process started with 8x8.
Name and contact numbers and explanation of who your customer contact is.
8x8 has you, as a customer, do most of the setup compared to the usual phone service, and need to explain this further to a potential new customer.
Likelihood to Recommend
8x8 has a good program with fair pricing compared to other similar services... I'm old-school, so I prefer to chat on the phone with the customer service person, and 8x8 does a good job of this and understands my lack of confidence in talking online with fixed questions... 8x8 doesn't tell you that whoever brought you to the company becomes your permanent customer contact, won't answer your questions, and want you to deal with the contact person, that you don't even know who it is, which is never explained correctly.
It supports remote work by enabling employees to communicate effectively anywhere, ensuring business continuity. It's particularly beneficial for small to medium-sized businesses that need a comprehensive, user-friendly communication solution. By consolidating various communication methods into one app, it breaks down silos and ensures seamless interaction among team members.
Pros
The beauty of 8x8 Work lies in its ability to simplify and unify communications.
It helps teams avoid the pitfalls of fragmented communication tools instead of juggling multiple apps and platforms.
Cons
Defiantly Customer service phone call inquiries.
Likelihood to Recommend
Customer Service phone call enquires: when the phone system is down and calling customer service support is not available. Instead, you get AI OR ROBOT, and it gets more frustrating.
Simple, easy to use and continually improved. Great support when I need it but it is very intuitive. Dare say it's fun? I work remote and it is a fantastic way to communicate with fellow employees. I also have terrible cell phone reception in my home office and I forward my cell phone to 8x8 and my calls work perfect. I also get an email with my voice mail that I love...
Pros
Accepts call forward
emails me voice mails
good sound quality
easy to use
FUN to use
Cons
Would like text ability
incorporate my google contacts into 8x8
Likelihood to Recommend
Just easy to use when I'm working on my pc. Nice.
