TargetBay vs. Webtrends Optimize

If you want to use email to market to your customer base and you don't want to handle the weekly chore of creating and sending the emails, then TargetBay and in particular, Danielle is the way to go. If you are not interested in email marketing or you can take care of that in-house, then there may be better choices to handle your reviews. It is rare today to find a company as responsive and easy to work with as TargetBay.

Webtrends optimize is a marketing solution aimed squarely at transactional and eCom based websites. I would only recommend a colleague to engage with the solution once the marketing dept is at a point where their website is fully optimized in regards to SEO and all the other fundamentals in order to truly build upon what Webtrends can offer. This shows you an easier way of measuring your ROI and the money you will invest with the tool-moving forward.

• Intuitive test set-up makes for a low learning curve.
• Ability to create custom data tables which enable exporting of visitor level data for more in-depth analysis outside of the Webtrends Optimize platform.
• Visual Editor WYSIWYG interface enables non-technical users to easily execute basic tests.

• There is always room for improvement, however, I find Target Bay to be cost effective.

• The cost is a factor. When you're trying to save money, particularly as a startup (a lot of our clients are up-and-comers) it has to be seen as an investment...but the cost to implement the system is fairly large.
• There's a bit of a steep learning curve, you can't just dive into the program.
• It's not impossible but it's not as easy as snapping your fingers to easily implement the program cross-platform.

Difficulty was getting business units to take the time and spend the money to test, and then implement, best options.

TargetBay, while it is a great tool and more than pays for itself, is not the most user-friendly and/or easy to use. Even our very tech-savvy employees have struggled through figuring out some of the work flows. While TargetBay's technical support team on chat is amazing, they are not always available and documentation on "how-to" user and or do XYZ on their platform needs improvement.

Set up of basic tests that do not use segmentation or targeting is an intuitive experience that can be learned quickly by new users. However, as the need for segmentation and other more advanced capabilities arise, the experience begins to degrade.

Zero complaints. It seemed to do its job quickly and accurately.

If I could rate their chat support separately than their phone support, I would rate their chat support at an 8 or 9. Their chat support team, when online, can usually answer most any questions quickly and clearly. If they can't find the answer right away, they always follow up with an email providing you the help/assistance you need. However, their phone support is another story. I would rate the phone support a 4. Most of the times, while not all of the time, that we've had to talk with someone on the phone, we typically are left with more questions and/or not the answer we were looking for. I think this may be partially due to the language barrier, but either way it has pushed us to want to only use that chat option for support which, unfortunately, is more time-consuming.

The support from the team at Webtrends Optimize is unparalleled. There is always someone to consult should there be any issues.

Online training was ok. Because every test is a custom test, there's only so much that can be covered in a generic lesson.

Implementation was pretty straightforward

We have used other customer review services in the past. I did not have the level of involvement with them like I do with Danielle and TargetBay. Email marketing is a major plus. And the PPC ads have been cost-effective. I am pleased with TargetBay and the results we have been getting since working with them.

Webtrends Optimize can be used for much more complex tests, allows better conversion tracking and data collection. Visual Website Optimizer (VWO) is suitable for smaller, simple projects. Webtrends Optimize comes with an excellent consultancy that could save you a lot of time and resources

• We have seen a positive ROI with TargetBay. Once we get through Covid-19, it will be even better.
• I know we are communicating with our customers on a regular basis, keeping Sign Art Etc in their minds as in-person events start happening again.
• Emails we send are professional and creative. Much better than I would do.
• PPC with TargetBay is better than what we see with Google Ads.

• So far we haven't seen an ROI that we can accurately measure due to only running a couple of tests that haven't resulted in direct, site wide changes. However, we have learnt a lot about how to set up the right processes and documentation.
