If you are seeking to gain insight on the user journey on your website, in various areas, Decibel is perfect for this situation. For example, if you are trying to understand form dropout, Decibel allows you to see what form field the majority of the dropoffs occur. You can then take action based on these insights.

Snowplow Insights has been by far one of the best programs to better track and store each of the data for events and product expansion, the versatility of this program makes it an immediate and real-time solution for development of each of its users, I recommend it for its price and quality of execution in my work.

  • Heat mapping provides a great understanding of UI pain points/bugs
  • Integration with analytics tools (we use Adobe) brings in analytics analysis as well
  • Helps to understand the user journey and where dropoff is occurring

Cons
  • Being able to create groups of segments would be useful.
  • The interface for selecting page types needs more options, it can be difficult to use if you have lots of similar pages.
  • Would be good if top level stats were presented in different ways, or in a more visual way (ie pie charts, graphs).
  • Generating reports - it would be nice if I could export charts and graphs instead of just CSV files.

Likelihood to Renew
I've heard about some new features that are coming online soon to do with tracking forms. They also offer a lead tracking package that we haven't tried yet, but I'm keen to check out.

Alternatives Considered
I have used Hotjar before, and in comparison, the functionality and the abilities in Decibel Insights are so much more advanced. The only downside is the price difference between the two tools, but the adaptability and the customer support you get with Decibel Insights definitely make it a more manageable and long-term tool to integrate with your marketing activity.

The main advantage of Snowplow Insights, compared to other similar tools in the market, is that Snowplow is able to combine data from more data sources and also enrich that data later on by connecting to other systems in real time. Those capabilities have been a challenge for many other tools in the past. Additionally, the number of out-of-the-box integrations makes Snowplow a very flexible tool.

Return on Investment
  • One of our most recent tests which were inspired by Decibel Insights calculated an additional 1M in revenue across a year. Something that we probably wouldn't have looked to test if it wasn't for reviewing session replays.
  • There are also other tests in the pipeline that we are expecting should have positive impacts, that again has been identified from watching session replays and triggered error messages throughout the journeys.

  • The main scenario that we live with this program is the response and the good reputation that we have built with this program in each of our events.
  • There are many occasions where we have the obligation to protect all our data, the advantage is that Snowplow Insights has a completely ample storage for our performance.
