Aurea Campaign Manager vs. Mautic (open source)

I feel that this is a very good email marking system. You really can accomplish any task needed for your email marketing needs. I think that if a few key features were added, it would really take Lyris HQ over the top. We are very happy with this product and we tell our clients about it when they ask us.

Mautic is not Salesforce or Dynamics of course; it is hard to install, still buggy and you have to know what you're doing if you want to use it. But that is your admission fee to an always free system that does essentially all the same things as the pricey alternatives, does it effectively and gives you total control. Mautic was acquired by Acquia, the company behind Drupal, and has been making substantial upgrades since that seem to be accelerating. The system has an active user community, active development and will only get better, making it an excellent choice to grow with and build your own systems around and never be dependent on third parties

• I like the file import process - quick and efficient.
• List segmentation is thorough.
• Campaign monitoring is easily accessible and accurate.

• Setting up the email templates has required hiring a professional. The templates that are provided are not fully responsive.
• More responsive form templates are needed.

Lyris HQ is a simple tool, but it is highly effective and , for smaller organizations, it can save a lot of time and money.

Super easy to use.

No issue.

Running larger segments can take some time.

I found one really good tech support guru and stuck with him forever.

Implementation was one of the most painful parts for us as we had to find and create our own library to interface with Lyris's SOAP API interface which still to this day is one of the top libraries used in its language.

Infusionsoft, at the time I tested it, had a crazy editor--very unintuitive and not very clean. Mautic (open source) makes it much easier to build up campaigns. Besides that, it didn't provide what we needed to justify the lack of possibility to self-host it and the requirement to pay for it.

• More defined lists for third party blasts, which turns into more leads for the clients. Which is more money in our pocket.
• Some segmentation pulls do take a long time, thus leading to multiple requests and a time suck for myself.

• We made our ROI back within a year.
• Fulfills our needs and our client's needs, our clients love it.
• I would just add more templates to the email construction selection, other than that, it is just perfect.
